Michigan counts lawn maintenance business as non-essential, so lawns are getting very scruffy / unsightly.
Son has a contract with a landscape company to do his five properties in the area, including mine.
He did my lawn last evening, but he has the others to do..
And he works overtime every day with the GM chaos.

And how about people / elderly who have no one to cut their lawn, or those elderly who try to cut their lawn and have a freakin' heart attack.

Ridiculous.....

I feel bad for your son, he has a lot of stress right now.

I am not sure, but I gather lawn maintenance is considered essential here. I've seen a few lawn companies at my neighbors' in recent weeks. I don't see the problem with that, it's always 1 individual working alone, and outside at that. Why would this be an issue?

I wonder if you son could find an individual who does lawns either F/T or P/T to take over for right now? I'm on NextDoor, and I've seen several people here offering their lawn services.

No anger just heart wrenching, heartbreaking sadness.

She said through all the sobbing that she can't do this much longer.

:crying:
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

Is she having suicidal thoughts? It sounds like she might be. She might need to go to the hospital at some point here soon, she's getting worse emotionally and increasingly hopeless. She will need to take some sort of action, anyway. I give her a lot of credit for trying to cope and get through this on her own, but unfortunately it's not helping enough. I think this is too complex for her to deal with by herself. I know you said she's tried various things that didn't work, but that doesn't mean there isn't a solution out there. She has a choice to either try and find that solution, or continue to live in misery. I assume she's rather do the former, but she might need your help and encouragement with this, as I'm sure her motivation is low. Whether it's a new therapist, different medication, support group, therapeutic yoga or acupuncture. Please encourage her, I do believe there is a resolution out there for her, she just hasn't found it yet.

At this point, if the therapist isn't working I would fire her. I don't know the requirements or anything in this regard for you WA, but it sounds like it is time to look at finding a different therapist.

New Earthquake Math Predicts How Destructive They’ll Be

When a fault slips, it unleashes a torrent of seismic waves, not all of them alike. Long low-frequency waves can travel far from their source and cause tall structures like skyscrapers to sway, while high-frequency waves are excellent at shaking houses and bridges and reducing them to rubble.

Using mathematical models inspired by landslides and avalanches, the researchers argue that these damaging high-frequency waves are caused not by the slippage itself, but by geological pinball games taking place within the fault.

This new model could help solve some long-standing seismological riddles. For example, in 1999, Taiwan suffered a deadly magnitude 7.7 earthquake. In the aftershocks that followed, the same fault sections repeatedly ruptured, and the ground moved in the same way each time. Yet, puzzlingly, the magnitudes of the aftershocks varied from quake to quake.

As sad as I am to read this going increasingly bad with Mandy Angel, I totally agree with Kickin'. This really is something that needs other, professional measures.

You do all that you can, but it simply is not enough. Even worse, it makes you and your family break up, stressed and ill as well. Mandy and all of you have to accept this can not be solved in the way you all try to solve it now. She really needs professional help, alternative healing, etc., like Kickin' described. There must be a solution out there, away from the well-trodden paths so far.

But you need to find it and encourage her and/or take firm action yourself, through the net, through her doctor, whatever. And I know you already have done so much to help her.

I will look online for you as well if I can find articles or help programs online. There must be a satisfying solution for her. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you. You are no quitters. hugs

Yes, I certainly am not saying WA and the family hasn't done enough. not that I feel you are indicating that I did, but I just want to make that clear. I know in the past WA has said they have tried many things that didn't work. Unfortunately that is often the case with these struggles, but one can't lose hope because that just means a life of misery for Mandy, which she clearly doesn't want. She likely has little motivation, hope or energy, which is why I recommend that the family might have to take some initiative on her behalf. All she needs is some little bit of positivity, one tiny little success, and that will give her the glimmer of hope she needs to keep going. Even the smallest success can have a snowball effect. Unfortunately it's not that easy to find all the help needed at this time. For example, support groups are not going to be meeting. Acupuncture may not be an option right now. But there are some options and the other ones could at least be investigated now, then take action when things get back to normal.

It should be considered essential - if lawns are overgrown that is just asking for rats or other vermin to move in.

I don't own a lawn mower. My front yard is small so its easy to just pay someone to do it every couple of weeks or whatever. My back yard barely has grass b/c of my dogs. So now I'm trying to figure out what to do. If I get a mower I am looking at electric b/c who knows how the gas situation is going to be by mid summer.

I am hoping there will be a reversal and it be considered essential.....
