Researcher: Asymptomatic Coronavirus Patients Can Still Face Organ Damage

New analysis from Scripps Research has found that anywhere from 30 to 40% of people with coronavirus are asymptomatic, but that doesn't mean they aren’t impacted by the disease.

Scripps Research cardiologist Eric Topol and his colleagues looked at research on over a dozen cohorts of coronavirus patients around the world. He found many of the patients that were asymptomatic still incurred lung abnormalities.

"People can go through a whole infection and not know it at all," he said.

"But the other thing that we uncovered that was a surprise to us, and I don't think most people know this, is that even though you don't have symptoms, which is silent enough as it is, there's another level of silence, which is you can have internal organ damage and not know it."

Yes, that one has been accounted for as one of the 3 that have popped up recently (other two were oarfish off Philippines and Mexico). Just clarifying so people don't think this is a 4th incident!

Earth's Magnetic Field Changing Fast

Weakening of Earth's magnetic field is a harbinger of increase in frequency and severity of natural disasters. Changes in the tension of Earth's magnetic field are happening unevenly along the surface and reach maximum values in the Western Hemisphere. This suggests that on these territories the strongest disasters should be expected in the coming years.

BRIGHT STARLINK SATELLITES OVER ARIZONA: On Saturday, June 13th, SpaceX launched 58 more Starlink satellites into Earth orbit. This morning, amateur astronomer Paul Maley watched 54 of them fly over his home in Carefree, Arizona:

[link to www.youtube.com (secure)]

"The entire train flew directly overhead," says Maley. "This video shows them passing by the star Altair (magnitude 0.8). At first you can see 3 very faint satellites leading the pack. The rest were much brighter, easily naked-eye objects in the magnitude range +1 to 0."

SpaceX has been launching Starlink satellites since May 2019. This weekend's additions bring to 540 the total number of Starlinks in orbit. Elon Musk has said that SpaceX will need at least 800 Starlink satellites to begin providing moderate internet coverage to customers in the United States and Canada, with numbers eventually swelling to 12,000 or more. Whether the benefits of Starlink internet service offset their potential damage to the night sky remains to be seen.
