*flash visit*Big move of brother tomorrow with some extra days after that in unpacking, installing, screwing chairs and desks together. And then, disconnect the phone for a week. Much love to all of you! Stay safe and sane.. *vaporizes* Quoting: InterMezzo That definitely sounds exhausting! So glad he will be moved soon, and hopefully you can both relax after that. Quoting: KickinIt Moving is practically done. He was quite happily surprised. Only called me five times tonight, to tell me the toilet seems to be too low and he thinks the cord of his laptop might be too short for when his real table comes in... Talking about screwing those chairs and desk together. It reminds me of a job interview I had at Ikea. It was my first attempt after the bankruptcy of our company. After all, the blue and yellow match perfectly with the colors of our company. Sitting nervously in an armchair, model Lidhult, I waited for a call from the HR lady. The door opened: "Mr. Mezzo, please come on in." I entered a room with a fairly minimalist design; a table, model Skarsta and one chair, model Renberget. The HR lady, model Agnetha, made a gesture at a package in the corner: "Okay, please put that chair together and sit down." I looked at her questioningly. She nodded coldly at the package again: "Go ahead, then we can start." Desperately I started the assignment, but it was impossible. After an hour the backrest was left over, two hours later more screws than I started with and an hour later the seat was the other way around. After five hours of hard work, the redeeming word finally came: "Thanks for coming, Mr. Mezzo, I know enough. You will be hearing from us soon." I remember thinking, "Yes !! So there is a chance!" Which was, as later turned out, more specifically six minutes later when I got the rejection phone call, against better judgment ... |

Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated Two Solar Storms, One Hits Earth | Space Weather News 07.14.2020This week our Sun launched two solar storms, one of which was Earth-directed! The storm has hit, right on time and all through the night people have been getting some amazing aurora shots down to mid-latitudes along with comet NEOWISE (as far south as Michigan in the USA, from what Ive seen thus far)! If you are a member of my Patreon community or follow me on Twitter, you got an early warning of this solar storm and hopefully got some once-in-a-lifetime shots! This solar storm is now waning, but should continue over the next day or so before things return to quiet. As for our star, it continues to be spotless, which means the solar flux is in the high 60s and radio propagation on Earth's dayside continues to be poor. However, this low solar flux means GPS reception on the dayside should be pretty good-- just be careful on Earth's nightside with the ongoing solar storm. Especially if you are near aurora or near dawn or dusk, your GPS reception will likely be unreliable. Learn more details about this ongoing solar storm, how long aurora will last, and see what else our Sun has in store this week!
