Thank you all for your nice and sweet comments on my job rejection post my dear friends. You are all awesome.
Actually, I thought it was kind of funny, since it totally fits into the thinking process of how most recruiters and HR departments look at hiring people these days.
I know, funny is a relative observation as well, because I know that a lot of people have it much worse than me and are very much dependent on having a job, no matter what age they are. Even more in times of crisis like these. So no disrespect meant regarding that whatsoever. I always wish everyone nothing but the best in life, in health, in wealth and in being safe.
In most fields age is most likely the biggest knock out factor, despite recruiters and other employment gurus on LinkedIn and other platforms claiming it is not. I truly believe they only put that stand there to get more visibility and clientele for themselves.
Anyway, the positive side of it is that it gives me food for a new column again, which I will write in the coming days or week. In Dutch, but I promise I will translate it in English as well, for who ever wants to read it anyway..
I can't claim to be the ultimate expert in this, because there are many people much older and wiser than me, who have suffered war, loss and destruction, but if there is one thing I have learned as an up-and-coming expert when it comes to age, it is that we have always conquered even the darkest times in our lives and this time it will be no different.
Most of you who read this can for sure find examples in life, where they thought they would not make it out on top, but still did. Not easy at all, life sometimes (and sometimes much more often than that) plain sucks, on whatever level and in whatever field. But I have said it so often and probably people get tired of hearing it, but at weakest moments we find strength. In ourselves and those around us who mean nothing but good for us and our society.
When you go from that mindset, nothing can really defeat you. Influences like hate, racism, violence, degrading and ridiculing someone's lifestyle or whatever else that goes around in our personal lives and society, may try to divide us or make us abandon hope and give up, but as long as we stick to our core and go from determination, encouragement and the will to survive, individual and together, nothing can defeat us.
So keep believing in yourself and those around you in your own circle of influence. Times will change for the better. It might take a while and test our beliefs, but they will, always. We will not fail. We haven't done so in the past and we won't do so now or in the future. No matter what.
Enjoy your Thursday Time Zones. Much love to all of you!

*vaporizes*Edit: actually I decided to make a separate thread for it. But I wanted to share my thoughts with my friends here in the EQ thread first.
