The sun unleashed a monster eruption of super-hot plasma Monday (Aug. 31) captured on camera by a NASA spacecraft. The giant sun eruption, called a solar prominence, occurred at 0100 UTC. The prominence was so large, it expanded beyond the camera view of NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory (SDO).
A colossal loop of glowing red plasma erupts from the higher left of the sun arcing up and out of frame as it blasts away from the star. The red-glowing looped material is plasma, a hot gas made of electrically charged hydrogen and helium.
The solar eruption is not headed straight for Earth, but it could deliver a glancing blow to our planet on Friday (Sep. 4).

Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated*5.7 Southeast of Loyalty Islands*5.2 Central Mid-Atlantic Ridge*5.2 Fiji ~ Pg 20429 I saw someone mention the schuman resonance and have been watching this myself and drawing correlations of my own, because there is to much confirmation bias, but noticed something today about the frequency and amplitude that is only the second time and thought to mention it with these tremors happening. Last time I saw this happen was back during the very beginning of February. Also a possible indicator to the speculation that it's going to have a permanent, or longer than temporary increase but wanted to see if anyone else has seen this happen before. [ link to sosrff.tsu.ru] [ link to sosrff.tsu.ru] Between 0600 - 1000 , both the frequency and amplitude had a spike and went -flat- and steady. Usually there are still subtle fluctuations when it has prolonged activity or even at rest. It's almost as if it was at a new, higher frequency and amplitude fixed resting point, until going unsteady again. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78759709 Good observation. I have no idea what to make of it, but that is the time frame from yesterday when Schumann appeared to be down (or something. It was initially black during that time frame but today it shows something, but looks "glitchy") Quoting: KickinIt Yes , also good observation on your part I belatedly noticed that too. That actually might be a "blackout" as you can see it vanish from the graph too, which is definitely a 'glitch' - it's when the frequency, apparently, "resets" or "refreshes" after disappearing completely for a time. Supposedly that used to be unheard of until recently in the past couple years and I've seen it happen three times. One of them was the first time, again, back at the beginning of February. Only been watching it since then myself. Unsure what that entails at all. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78759709 I sense the instrument got “recalibrated” and I’m not sure we can trust 5he readings anymore. Spread the word, change the collective conscious...... Quoting: KickinIt Wow look at that. Occurred exactly the same time as the resonance spiked and went flat. I've seen significant correlation between solar activity and the resonance. Many seem to think it's the sun that affects the resonance , but I think that is backwards. I think , if anything , it's the resonance that affects the sun , and a whole lot more in our solar system / galaxy. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 78759709 I believe so too. The earth communicates what it needs to the sun and sun responds. Spread the word, change the collective conscious......
