I was happy to see that. He still has a bunch of things connected to him, and still has one chest tube that's removing fluid from his lungs. Aside from the LOTS of pain he is in, he is doing really well! They even had him do a little walking today. And he was out of bed and in his chair when I got there. I let him know that his GLP friends were thinking of him and sending their love and prayers. That made him smile. The nurse said he should be moved out of ICU tomorrow into a "step down" room. I'm gonna go back tomorrow afternoon during visiting hours. I brought him his phone so at least he can now communicate with his family directly and I can check on him more easily. He's so brave and tough! He's doing great! ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

He had been on one of the video conferences that morning with a bunch of healthcare bigwigs (including WHO). Not that I will be getting one, but he said the word is that a vaccine won't be available until February, earliest, for healthcare workers. He said regular peeps won't get it until April, earliest. He told me this on 9/10. And I along with many others will refuse it. Not trust worthy at all. The vaccine is some new type of DNA based thing. Nope! That just sounds way more scary than covid with is 99% survivable. I wouldn't have interest in a half-assed, rushed vaccine even if the plague returned. Oh and a half brother that Jay barely knew. Then stated they would have ha small graveside ceremony and no one was expected to attend. Needless to say, everyone is upset. Two of his kids are flying out there, even though they had to get flights today (they didn't know till I reached out), several of Jay's friends from school years are all there now. They will all meet before and got to the cemetery together, arm and arm and dressed how my cousin always dressed, jeans, flannel shirt, bb cap. They will be carrying flowers, something the weird wife said wasn't needed. There will be a statement made. I wish I could go for I wouldn't be silent about the snubbing for Jay's family and friends. How can people be so friggin cruel????? I'm sorry to hear this WA. I swear some people just have zero empathy, or even the ability to have any. That makes this harder than necessary for you and your family. :( My uncle did something similar at Papa's service. He left my 2 sisters completely out of his lengthy speech which highlighted his own children. My dad will never forgive him for it either. Thinking of you & yours WA. I love you my friend. <3 ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

It's about a 40 minute drive so if I bring a hot dish, I will need to be sure to keep it as warm as possible during the ride. We're making some chicken soup right now which I will bring, but if anyone has any good ideas, please do feel free to share! I'm definitely a rookie in uncharted waters right now. Also with other things. I've gotten him one of those health bracelets that will check his blood pressure, oxygen level, ECG, etc. I've also gotten him a new, cozy bathrobe which I figure will be more comfy than a t-shirt once he's home. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |
