Sad how much land is burning up!

This article talks about the ongoing EQ swarm at S. Shetland Islands. I was hoping for more info, but it's something. I guess part of the problem is that it's such a remote area, there is much the experts still don't know. Plus it's not populated, so finding out more isn't prioritized.



...This seismic swarm continues during October, with some episodic signals recorded in the closest stations of the sequence. The open question remains about this anomalous seismicity, which can be related to volcanic activity close to the Orca seamount. Previous studies suggest that the temperature anomalies in the zone imply hydrothermal flux coming from the seamount (Rodrigo et al., 2018). While the efforts have been made to understand the tectonic setting and geophysical signatures in this area, the white continent remains mysterious.

When I first starting watching the sun and learning about flares, it was just the beginning of Cycle 24. The most I knew about solar flares before that, was as a police dispatcher with the old radios in the 70's and 80's and flares caused massive amounts of skip. I could hear Houston fine, but my officers outside the office, nothing, lol

Now, I love the X-flares!
