Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated

When I was younger I always wrote 100's of stories. They were only for myself but some were hundreds of pages long.

One story I wrote started with an old woman sitting in a rocking chair on a rise of ground that looked out over a large crowd spread out before her. A small child put her tiny hand into the hand of the old and wrinkled one and asked "Mema would you tell us about the olden days?"

"Way back then, when it first started, we didn't believe what the officials were telling us. That the virus was so deadly many would die. They told us to wear masks and to keep our distance from everyone. We laughed at them. For the first half of the year, the rules were loosely followed with some dying but most only getting a cold type illness and then were well. Then the virus changed, the deaths were in the millions, then the billions. The last I heard before the broadcasts went down was over 5 billion had died.

"Not long after that, only mine and one other family were all I ever found alive. I was 60 years old back then and today to have come to celebrate my birthday. This story I am about to tell you is about the world you see around you now and how everything is different now, After The Change".

Corny but well .... the virus and the masks and the distance - I wrote it in the 1980's

And I deeply feel that I am blessed to have all of YOU here. You've all carried me across mountains that I myself couldn't climb at the time. And I do hope that myself and others have been able to do similar for you & others.

We need each other. We are either beautiful energies all bound together wanting to achieve a common goal, or we are forces working against one another in chaos.

BEFORE The Stand came out, I wrote something like it, God vs satan with visions of survivors being told to go to one area. It was so like The Stand in a less detailed way that my mom just looked at me for a very long time and finally said "I wonder if something like that will happen in the future and people are picking up on it now?" Oh and I called that virus The Kissing Virus, lol.

The Stand was released in October 1978. I wrote mine probably in 76

How is she feeling?

I made them tonight but they fell (sad face). Googled it, said I mixed the filling too long. I have not tried them yet, I think they’ll be ok. Got cool whip and salted caramel sauce to top, maybe pecans too.

The absolute truth. And I wholeheartedly agree! I know I have some mountains behind me that I'd never have crossed if you guys hadn't been so supportive and helped me so much. I hope I can be like that for y'all when needed.
