Damn! The one cop the pulled the taser in about 5 seconds flat. WTF? He must have ate his Wheaties with a side of steroids. Did you also notice the bike cop with the aggressive was like WTF about the other cop also? The crazy cop might have been a federal cop in front of a fed building. Other then that, I bet if the two dudes wore white Tyvek suits, most people wouldn't have even did a double take.

Ebola can be turned into bioweapon, Russian & UK experts warn

Concerns that the deadly Ebola virus, which has claimed nearly a 1,000 lives in West Africa in recent months, can be used by as biological weapon are far from being groundless, Russia’s Federal Medical-Biological Agency (FMBA) said.

“Such possibility exists,” Vladimir Nikiforov, who heads the Department of Infectious Diseases at the FMBA’s Institution of Advanced Training, acknowledged at a press conference in Moscow.

“Actually, this virus can be used in the form of a spray, which can lead to very big trouble,” the disease expert is cited as saying by the RIA-Novosti news agency.

The U.S. may not be prepared to treat American relief workers should they get infected. According to Isaacs, of the Samaritan’s Purse, the plane that flew Writebol and Brantly to safety in Atlanta is the sole vehicle of that kind in existence. “There is only one airplane in the world with one chamber to carry a Level 4 pathogenic victim. One—and it’s in the U.S,” said Isaacs. “There is no other aircraft in the world.” Isaacs says that unless the Department of Defense is secretly in possession of another aircraft, then the U.S. will not have the power to evacuate more than one American relief worker at a time, should they get infected. “If the U.S. is going to expect CDC people [to be in these nations], there has to be assurance that we can care for them when they are sick.” The disease could spread to other countries. Isaacs, whose warnings to Congress about the urgency for a better response prompted Thursday’s meeting, says he is gravely concerned about the future. After first observing the outbreak in April, he’s watched the disease spread furiously across West Africa with little to no effective international support. “I think we are going to see death tolls in numbers that we can’t imagine,” said Isaacs. “If we do not fight and contain this disease, we will be fighting this and containing this in multiple countries across the world. The cat is, most likely, already out of the bag.”

The damn US shouldn't be "evacuating" anyone from anywhere who has the Ebola virus and bringing them back here. If true, that we have that one and only plane, thank God!

Imagine how many more we'd be bringing in per day....or are we??

I'm fucking pissed about this. Scared, yes, but more pissed than anything at this point.

There is NO EXCUSE for this. Omg, I can't even get going.

Giant venomous jellyfish found off Australia

Two new species of extremely poisonous jellyfish have been found off the coast of northwest Australia. Irukandji jellyfish are normally the size of a fingernail, but one of the specimens is the length of an arm.

The smaller of the two is the Malo bella, which was found near Exmouth. The larger one, the Keesingia gigas, was caught in a fishing net off Shark Bay further to the south.

The discovery – which was made by Lisa-Ann Gershwin, a CSIRO scientist and director of Marine Stinger Advisory Services – brings the number of Irukandji species found globally to 16, nine of which are in Australian waters. Until now, there were only two species of jellyfish found off Western Australia.

The Keesingia gigas is the length of an arm and can cause the potentially fatal Irunkandji syndrome – resulting in pain, vomiting, nausea, and in extreme cases stroke and heart failure.

Gershwin said the existence of the larger Keesingia gigas was previously known, but until now it had never been officially classified.

“It is absolutely humungous – the body is about 30 to 50 centimeters tall and that’s not including the tentacles. It’s an absolute whopper of a jellyfish,” she told ABC Australia.

Ya know, oddly enough EMSC hasn't been reporting the Cali or Oklahoma quakes today. I found that very strange. Yet USGS is. Weird.

This is the EMSC link I use. It's a mobile link, but I use it on my lap top and prefer it over the standard desktop link.

The extinct influenza virus that caused the worst flu pandemic in history has been recreated from fragments of avian flu found in wild ducks in a controversial experiment to show how easy it would be for the deadly flu strain to reemerge today.

Scientists said the study involved infecting laboratory ferrets with close copies of the 1918 virus – which was responsible for the Spanish Flu pandemic that killed an estimated 50 million people – to see how easy it can be transmitted in the best animal model of the human disease.

But other researchers have denounced the research as foolhardy and dangerous. Critics said that any benefits of the attempts to recreate 1918-like flu viruses from existing avian flu strains do not justify the catastrophic risks if such a genetically engineered virus were to escape either deliberately or accidentally from the laboratory and cause a deadly influenza pandemic.

I have a habit of always checking out all exits in any public place. For a lot of reasons really. Mostly for if a fire breaks out. In public place with a lot of people (30+) you NEED to know exits and don't fuck about. Get out ASAP, even if you leave stuff behind. Too many people die because when the rush and panic start, people actually can jam up exits. And many die in the pile behind the door many feet back.

I welcome some cooler air here.

Maybe it's just me, and I understand we are all over the globe, and that some things/elements have different effects on people, but the sun is really strong this Summer (to me). At times I literally feel like my face is going to burst into flames, even when I am inside, but forget about it when I step outside. It's at the point where I don't believe the temps being reported.

For instance, TWC currently says it is 67 degrees here, yet if you placed your hand on my face or neck you would be shocked! It feels (physically to the touch) like I have a rip roaring fever, but I have no fever at all.

Is anyone else experiencing this??

I'm beginning to question whether or not I truly have an autoimmune disorder, or if something else is causing this....

Any and all feedback appreciated. hf

Thank you for responding!! I have noticed over the past couple of weeks while driving home from work, because I'm a weirdo and listen to news radio lol, that the temp they are reporting is about 10 degrees less than the reading my car gives. Wtf is that about??

Doesn't even matter, I know what I feel. And I have never felt it before. So I either truly have an autoimmune disorder that still hasn't been figured out, even with the multiple specialists and numerous viles of blood taken for testing, or the sun is much stronger (due to the atmosphere and/or our shield weakening).

Similar to how some people catch the flu while others don't, the sun may be causing reactions to some and not others. 1dunno1

I don't know, but something with my body's chemistry is WAY off lately.

That's called situational awareness and it's an inherent ability of survivors. Awareness of your surroundings is what has allowed the human species to survive and thrive. Be proud of that ability. Some will call it paranoia, they say that as they are blind to the many dangers that are around us all the time and will not see many things coming until it's too late. Typically they end up in more 'accidents' as well.

Not to get too personal, but next time you use the restroom, I would bet it'll be dark yellow. Drink some water, that should help.

Always thinking you have something wrong with you will ultimately lead to having something wrong with you. Your brain is far more powerful than most realize and will create symptoms that make you believe even more that you are sick and that process can and will snowball if you do not stop yourself.

You can take supplements and all kinds of other things, but what it really boils down to is your mindset. Will that stop every bug out there? No, but it will stop many of the other ailments people seem to suffer from.

We're constantly inundated with information from multiple sources, either overtly or covertly, manipulating us that there's something wrong and we need to seek help from someone or something to remedy it. This is not true, there's nothing wrong, and your body is an amazing piece of machinery that will take care of itself, as long as you let it.

peace
