My bones don't like the cold weather either. I really enjoyed escaping the cold last month and heading down to Florida.

The weather up here in MA is currently all over the place. It's that weird time of year for us. Today is going to be 71 degrees and Thursday will be 47, ugh. Saturday is supposed to be nice. Sunny and mid-60's.

THE LYRID METEOR SHOWER: Earth is approaching a stream of debris from Comet Thatcher (C/1861 G1), source of the annual Lyrid meteor shower. If forecasters are correct, the shower will peak on the night of April 21-22. Usually sky watchers count 15+ Lyrids per hour; this year bright moonlight will sharply reduce visibility. Despite the glare, it is still possible to see a Lyrid.

Small earthquake shakes Eureka, Missouri Tuesday

The tectonic area is in the large Illinois Basin and Ozark Dome Region and stretches from Indianapolis to St. Louis and Memphis. It borders the more active New Madrid seismic zone. The largest historical earthquake in the region damaged southern Illinois in 1968. That was a 5.4 magnitude quake.

Larger earthquakes occur in the Illinois Basin and Ozark Dome Region every decade or two. Geologists have evidence earthquakes over the last 25,000 years that were much larger than any observed historically in the region.

We're getting snow today! Hit our high for the day at midnight, and it will drop all day long. Will stay above freezing but rain should start anytime, then turn to snow sometime after noon. Light accumulation expected on grass and roads will be fine since it's been warm (72 yesterday). But they are talking heavy snow when it happens, and giant flakes. It'll be short lived, I'm looking forward to it.
