Vicodin is bad, I would get her off of that. She was diagnosed less than a month ago and that's the first they do is prescribe vicodin?? SMH. It is addictive, she will build a tolerance, it's hard on the body, and it won't solve her problem.

Again, look into dietary changes, which can do a lot more good than you might think in this situaton. I have a friend with both Lupus and Rheumatoid Arthritis who uses a daily tincture of a CBD/THC blend. She got help finding the right combo and % of each through research and from an expert at the dispensary. She also has drastically changed how she eats and started exercising. All 3 together have completely changed her life and how she feels.

I know Lupus is a serious illness, but it also doesn't have to mean the end of Mandy's normal life. I have known multiple people with Lupus who managed it well and as such, it wasn't that impactful on their lives. If you assume the worst, then that will be her mindset and the outcome. I encourage you to be more positive, which might help her do the same. There are many things that cannot be cured that people live with everyday. There are things she can do to help herself here, don't allow that to get lost.

Mentioned it to her a little bit ago and well, not going to battle her on this today. I'm just too tired to. She said and I quote "I have very few things in life now and very few things I can eat and I am not giving up pasta!!!!" She doesn't eat much bread products. Likes cake but not too often. Outside of pasta and a few other things from time to time, she is mostly a vegetarian.
