Most of the current internet / social media is driven by personal, subjective opinions, not expertise or facts. It's a modern age Pandora's Box, where stating facts hardly has any value anymore, since there will always be an overload of sites, forums, tweets, posts and whatever to try and debunk those facts. Through that people believe what they want to believe and have given their brian to those who are able to convince them with their "facts". They have become sheep to those who claim to know the truth, but in reality are just trying to convince others with their own personal opinion.

Same with GLP. This forum used to be (mostly) about uncle intel and valuable breaking news. Not so much anymore. It has more and more become a conspiracy site where most of the threads are personal opinions, that in a lot of cases are hateful, degrading and ridiculing toward opinions that go against the current atmosphere, whether it be politics, life style, religion, race or other subject related. And the bigger part of the crowd follows, just as most mods do.

It is not done to state a counter opinion about vaccination for example, just as people who said they lost their loved one to this man made virus and were going through terrible grief were laughed at and disrespected. Is that how we should treat each other? Forget grief or personal decisions and ridicule and degrade them? Wish them ill or worse?

I have taken the vac with a clear minded balanced decision. Just as so many people I know around here have, without any consequences. Does that give those who think I made the wrong decision the right to wish me a painful life or a quick death? I don't think so. And if you do think so, well than with all respect, fuck you too.

I am convinced that without GLP the majority here would have taken the shot too without thinking and not even care about it afterwards. Yes, I too have questions about the control issues and health risks and I do feel bad for those who have suffered side effects or worse, but I weighed and decided. My decision, just like it is yours to do whatever you decide. I certainly don't disrespect, blame or wish illness or worse on those who don't want to take it.

Same with the use of mRNA and the future of it. Of course one can doubt the honesty of governments and companies, which is perfectly fine and healthy, but if you or a loved one who is suffering from hepatitis, cancer, HIV or whatever disease could get treated with it and have a better chance to survive or get better, would you deny that treatment? Without technology health care would not be at the level we are now.

Most of us have forgotten to use our own sane mind and opened eyes, because we don't have the time or energy for it anymore. More and more we go from what is fed to us and if it sounds convincing and logical, well, then it must be true, right? Why waste time in investigating any further? In fact, we often (rightfully) blame the MSM for spreading subjective disinformation, but if you hover above GLP and many other sites these days, we do exactly the same.

You could ask why I am still here if I dislike this place so much. And I even sponsor this site with a number of paid memberships for friends. So why? Sim and many other friends I made here know, that I am still here mostly because of two threads, this one and the Jukebox and more important, the people that are in it. Threads that I believe at least show respect to a different opinion and in many cases agree to disagree without hating or ridiculing each other. And maybe, as naive as it may seem, I am also one who believes that in order to change something for the better, you never walk away from the challenges you face, even if it does feel like fighting windmills at times.



Apologies for the rant and not meant to derail the thread, but it was the perfect trigger to at least state my view on this whole "uncle intel" subject. So thanks for that!

Very well said! Granted, there are a lot of opinions on here worth listening to, but nothing should be taken as fact without proof. People seem to have forgotten how to research and use critical thinking skills and just pick who and what to believe without a healthy dose of skepticism.

Tilting at windmills a la Don Quixote is what keeps life worth living. Someone has to fight those giants!
