Odile Poised to Bring Catastrophic Flooding to Southwest

Odile will unload tremendous rainfall over a large part of the Southwest United States that will run off the mountains and into the desert valleys and plains through the end of the week.
According to Western Weather Expert Ken Clark, "There is the potential for devastating, catastrophic and historic flooding in this scenario."
AccuWeather experts Evan Myers and Ken Clark discuss the impacts from Odile in the video below.
The heaviest rainfall will hit the Southwestern states of Arizona and New Mexico where a general 3 to 6 inches will fall, but local amounts of 10 inches or more are possible on the slopes of the mountains. Rainfall of 1 to 2 inches per hour can occur.
There is a significant risk to lives and property in the region.
"Not only will flash and urban flooding occur in this case, but there is the potential for major river flooding," Clark said.

I think you are just seeing the faults based on your view settings (rather than pipeline). Still something to keep an eye on. : )

Wow! Amazing!

Aurora over Maine
Image Credit & Copyright: Jeremy P. Gray
Explanation: It has been a good week for auroras. Earlier this month active sunspot region 2158 rotated into view and unleashed a series of flares and plasma ejections into the Solar System during its journey across the Sun's disk. In particular, a pair of Coronal Mass Ejections (CMEs) impacted the Earth's magnetosphere toward the end of last week, creating the most intense geomagnetic storm so far this year. Although power outages were feared by some, the most dramatic effects of these impacting plasma clouds were auroras seen as far south as Wisconsin, USA. In the featured image taken last Friday night, rays and sheets of multicolored auroras were captured over Acadia National Park, in Maine, USA. Since another CME plasma cloud is currently approaching the Earth, tonight offers another good chance to see an impressive auroral display.

Whoa!

Scientists latch on to colossal squid
Huge specimen caught in Antarctic waters by New Zealand fishing crew is one of few ever examined

Scientists in New Zealand were suckers for the chance to examine a rare colossal squid, a mammoth creature the length of a minibus and seldom seen by any living thing other than the deep-sea creatures it preys upon.

The squid, weighing 350kg (770lb), was hauled up in Antarctica’s remote Ross Sea by toothfish boat captain John Bennett and his crew. It was frozen for eight months until New Zealand scientists got the chance to thaw it out for examination.

Kat Bolstad, a squid scientist from the Auckland University of Technology, led the team examining the creature. She described this rare specimen as “very big, very beautiful”.

The squid is a female and its eight arms are each well over a metre long. Its two tentacles would have been perhaps double that length if they had not been damaged. “This is essentially an intact specimen, which is almost an unparalleled opportunity for us to examine,” Bolstad said. “This is a spectacular opportunity.”
