You seem to like the guy and trust him, so I think letting him move in for a bit is ok. As far as the terms, IMO I think you are doing too much. If you are going to give them all the rent $ back as a means to get their own place (which is very kind), at the least I think they need to work towards furnishing it themselves. If they are old enough to move out on their own and live together as a couple, then they should be capable of doing more to get themselves to that point vs. you having to do so much. And I know you don't mind doing it because that's who you are, but it's not about that. It's about them proving they are responsible and ready for this by putting forth more effort than you.

My other questions that could factor in... Do they have steady work? Last I heard you were upset w/Mini because she wasn't working at all, and when she does she doesn't stick it out long. That doesn't jive well with being 100% on your own. Do they understand what they are committing to with a lease in both of their names, and the problems this could present if they broke up or for any other reason wanted out of the lease early (realized they couldn't afford it, etc)? Are they aware of all the other life expenses and bills they may not have thought of beyond rent/utilities and have they written all this out to ensure their income will cover all of it?

I guess the bottom line is I support him moving in for a specified period, but as far as the plans to move in together I worry if they are ready for it and if they can truly afford it, especially in this economy that will probably get worse before it gets better. I know they are both smart kids with good intentions, but they are still pretty young so that's where my worry comes from.

I heard my dogs barking a while ago so I looked outside just in time to see some damn meth head attacking my neighbors car with a HUGE knife...machete like.

The neighbor pulled away and stopped, opened his door like he was gonna go get some and then thought better of it and drove off.

Damn meth head started shouting 'here kitty, kitty, kitty' except that instead of kitty he was saying the n-word over and over. Just shouting like a madman. He ran down to the neighbors house and ripped his mailbox straight out of the ground, then started stalking the neighbor all the while shouting his little chant.

He stalked all around my neighborhood and then into the next neighborhood over still shouting until I could no longer hear him.

He was eyeballing me and my lovely wife...standing at our door...as he was going by so I lifted my shirt on the side a bit so that he would know for sure that we AIN'T the folks to fuck around with.

Cops flood the neighborhood looking for him and take our statements.

About 15 minutes later...gunfire in the next neighborhood over. I think they may have offed him...

I don't drink much, but I am tonight. Here's to the rest of the weekend being MUCH less exciting.
