You know how much I admire and respect you for your determination and the way you handle things, like with your grandson. No one, but certainly not you can never blame you for not putting in all the energy in everything you do.

Not many would have been able to do what you did for him, all the love and energy you directed at him, trying to get him out of that situation and addiction. But apparently some need to hit rock bottom multiple times before they really get it. Often at the expense of those who unconditionally helped them the most.

You have never been a quitter, your name is NJAG for a reason, but I do hope for you as well, that you think of yourself too and take time to build up your IGES (Infinite Granny Energy Supplies) again as well, with a little getaway here and there in between.

Daughter went to work at an escape room - where you have to figure out the clues given in a room before you can leave. This is the first job she has had in 2 years 5 months. She hopes she can do it - only a few hours a week.

Son just had his 3 month check up - scans and blood work clear and looking good.

Life has been a roller coaster but at least for the time being we are on the high end.

Adding that after a week sister still felt lousy. Took her to an ER clinic and she was covid AND strep positive! She's on her third day of Z-pack and doing better. Jeez....

Your words are very wise, Mezzo! I am learning to disengage from grandson. Had another wise person tell me I had an addiction too - to grandson & helping him. It's made me rethink a lot of things. I'm trying to back away and let him discover consequences...he seems to be trying harder. He did tell me that 'adulting' is harder than he thought it would be! lol

I've been doing to intensive housecleaning. Seems one or both of my former foreign exchange students is coming to visit next Thursday. One is Russian, but married to a Japanese woman and living in Japan for over 20 years. The other was from Denmark. Will be happy to see either of them, after 25 years!
