Blissy has been in noticeable pain all day. At one point she tried to scratch at her neck/throat stitches so we put the cone on. Absolutely heartbreaking. We had to put it on the tightest setting so she couldn't get it off, and it was SO tight and close to the stitches. The poor thing was actually crying. We took it off and have just been watching her closely. We got a different cone from Petco that's a fabric one. Hopefully this one will work better. A friend on GLP suggested cutting the sleeve off of a t-shirt and putting that around her neck. That's such a good idea and we will try that! Today she said it was killing and decided to actually look at it. She freaked out and then showed me. OMG!!! This was no pimple! It was a huge infection that I thought was cellulitis gone wrong. She went to urgent care and they said it was an abscess. They had to cut it, drain it and put a wick in it. And started her on antibiotics. Both of my girls are in pain and need their mama, but I have to start this new job/journey tomorrow. Ugh. Timing isn't ideal. The good news is that Nef will be off and home tomorrow. But then we're both working Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Man these are the years of trials and tribulations. Lord please let end. Spread the word, change the collective conscious...... Girls at the beach were making funny vids. So far minimal damage similar to other canes they’ve lived thru. I wasn't expecting that! Glad it's not too bad for them. The smaller one my pup could scratch around it. At least with this style they won't run into everything in the house.
