Seems like only yesterday I was making her Sweet 16th birthday cake!!!!  I am so proud of her and all the changes she has made just in the last year. She is happy. She is working. She is dating. The lupus is better. The depression is gone. She will stay on her meds for 18 more months and then they will start weaning her off of them, the depression meds that is. No fancy cakes now but I did make her a lemon cake with lemon frosting, which is a cooked whipped icing that we all love. Not as sweet as marshmallow fluff, but like that in a way. My cousin her family and there daughters family moved from Valencia, Ca 2 years ago to Winter Haven, FL. Winter Haven is exactly in the middle of Florida between Tampa and Orlando. Yes right in the full path of hurricane Ian. There house there was on a raised 3 foot house pad as best that I can tell from the pictures and got 3 inches of water in 4 rooms of the house. Luckily only flooding and no major storm damage. I am sure that they took in to consideration hurricanes in Florida when they purchased there home there in the middle of Florida. She has worked and retired from Chub and Liberty Mutual insurance companies. Even though any damage is horrible at a personal level, at least relieved that theirs was relatively small compared to what this devastating hurricane did.  i might be underestimating the telecommunications wipeout? HAS IT BEEN TOTAL? MEZZO, SINCE IM 'LO-TECH' ILL EMAIL YOU SOME BASIC INFO TO SEE IF YOU CAN EXTRACT ANYTHING. LOOK FOR THAT SOON. CAPS. |
