So, according to the weatherman this is 2-6 inches of snow:

[link to tinypic.com]
[link to tinypic.com]

There was no snow on the ground at 3AM last night. This came in quick.

My Beagle is not happy at all with all this white stuff. His undercarriage is a little low to deal with a foot of snow.

At least it's light & fluffy so it should shovel easily. I'll need to make a path to my wife's car so she can leave for work tonight. The snow drifted between our vehicles and is probably 2 feet deep there.

BigD, how did you fair?

Wow!

Houston driver survives 25-foot drop into construction pit

According to witnesses, the driver ran several red lights and struck the side of another vehicle before swerving through a fence and into a high-rise construction site. Several onlookers jumped into the pit to rescue the driver, who was unconscious.

"It was a miracle (he survived), to be honest with you," one witness, who climbed into the pit, told KHOU. "The last thing he remembered was he was driving and someone kind of cut him off and he woke up to me waking him up and that's all he remembered."

Police believe alcohol may have played a factor in the incident, according to KHOU.

Sol Neman, We woke up to snow in the Seattle area as well. I went to bed around 2 O'clockish, woke up around 8 O'clockish. It dumped some time between then. Now near noonish it's pretty much mostly sunny and very windy about 29* out. It looks pretty all the snow blowing off the rooftops and whatnot. The pictures below I took about 10 ish.

A major winter storm moved through Glacier National Park last night causing significant snow and some localized damage.
- On the East side it continues to snow heavily and at last report they received over two feet of snow overnight and it is still coming down.
- On the West side there is blowing snow and there are numerous trees down in the Park Headquarters area, with many of the park housing units taking direct hits. At this time it appears there are no injuries and we are accessing damage to structures. (bh) (6 photos)

Look at the size of the trees that fell!

They were forecasting 24+ inches in GNP and the rest of the Northern Rockies. It appears they must have got it. They were hit by the same storm we had here. The winds ahead of the storm are probably what caused the damage up there. They were pretty nasty yesterday.
