I just don't know, but am going to share it anyway just incase. A little bit after 8p AZ time I totally passed out and scared the crap out of my family. They say it was less than a minute. No I am not sick. And no, I NEVER pass out. I have been in bed since, just laying there not sleeping, and just got up now to get something to eat. I still have this intense pressure feeling. Like everything is out of balance but I am not wobbly. Super weird cause otherwise I would feel fine. The whole thing is completely crazy. I don't know what to make of it. I'm going to go back to bed, but wanted to share due to the high strangeness of it all. I'll be back on tomorrow. Stay safe everyone.
Quoting: SkinnyChic Hi SkinnyChic!! Today I would say I was on the verge of passing out a couple of times. Funny thing is, it did not alarm me, no sense of dread, just the awareness of the observer. Here's a good analysis from an AC on the other thread. Non-Stop Aftershocks at Chile or a Foreshock for a Bigger one? all the 4's and the 5's are still hitting them. What do you think?
Quoting: Anonymous Coward 69339003 Main shock is done. What you should be looking for are adjacent sections of the fault that are now loading with additional stress. Based on it being an 8.3, the fault face area that slipped probably covers 13931 km². Average displacement is 0.84 meters with a peak displacement of about 3.69 meters. The surface expression is probably 233.88 km long, though that would be underwater. Down-dip rupture width is probably 62.09 km, half it above the hypocenter, half of it below. If you want to take a stab at these calculations yourself, try this: [ link to seismo.berkeley.edu] Just keep in mind that the reverse fault relationships don't hold at the 95% probability level. But, it's a good read and can help you puzzle out how the quake would be manifest on the surface. Quoting: Anonymous Coward 64823715 Spread the word, change the collective conscious...... He had learned to change his IP address quickly so bans don't work well for long. He is quite nasty. Today was very tame.
Quoting: WhiteAngel haha, well he's met his match with me. I can give it right back in my oh so famous sarcastic humor. Sorry he's such a pest to you ladies. Sounds like he has too much time on his hands and not enough in his life to worry about to come on here and harass folks over an enjoyable and informative thread. Quoting: ScarlettOHell We all figure he is a kid and very lonely. Just doesn't know how to get along with others. On the other hand, trolling shill, lol. |

Quoting: Simple27 I'm just happy not to see 85+. On the weather tonight, they said the 2015 was the hottest year on record. The weatherman said he didn't know how they came up with those numbers because though some places were hotter than normal, most were not. Colorado for instance was much cooler than normal, we never saw one 100 degree this summer, something we have done every year since I moved back in 1997. Many states were cool. Quoting: WhiteAngel They've said the same on our local news here. Hottest year...hotter than last year. For my area, I believe it. And although I am actually looking forward to winter (winter doesn't bother me at all as far as temps go) it seems the general consensus is that this winter will be worse than last record breaking winter. That's almost hard to imagine. We got slammed last winter. Take away the shoveling and I would be fine with it lol. But jeez, that was intense! Quoting: Simple27 I. Don't. Miss. The. Shoveling. Lol. The day I left Boston was a June 1. There was still one of those enormous black snow piles left in a DeMoula's parking lot. I smiled, knowing I would never shovel snow again! But I miss watching it snow. Quoting: La Sirena Ugh! Shoveling SUCKS!!! Last winter it seemed like every other day we got 5-10+ feet of snow. I'm north of Boston. I also have big muscles now. The last of the big snow piles in Boston didn't fully melt until the beginning of July! That's just crazy! If I didn't have to shovel it, I wouldn't mind the snow at all. Although last winter was so intense it became scary to drive even on a clear day because of the size of the piles of snow at each street corner. You couldn't see if someone was coming down the street you were turning onto until you were more than halfway out in the street. ~*Ride the Wave*~ |
