Too late for making chicken soup (homemade anyway). Just made her a second cup of tea, per her request. This kid NEVER drinks tea.

She also voluntarily took 2 teaspoons of honey. I snuck a little honey in this last cup of tea too.

My daughter, her best friend, and I had the same symptoms a couple of weeks ago. I made this sweet and spicy tea- takes about 20 minutes to drink it down, but believe me, it clears everything up and sweats out the fever!

Boil water for three cups of tea in a large saucepan.

After water boils, remove from heat and immediately add the following, and steep for five minutes:

3 green tea bags
2 tablespoons chopped ginger or 1 tsp ginger powder
1/4 tsp cinnamon
1/8 tsp ground red cayenne pepper
1 or more tbsp of honey
1 tbsp lemon juice

Strain out the ginger if using fresh, otherwise, just stir up really well and sip it for as long as it takes to get it down. It doesn't taste bad, but it is a bit spicy, but it coats the throat to help stop the coughing and clears out all the mucous.

I hope she feels better, poor kid. We had that ourselves, and I couldn't take it anymore and just made the tea. Even my daughter and her friend were desperate and drank it all down, and felt better in the morning.

Thank you Scarlett : )

I will probably let her stay home tomorrow. And will try this out tomorrow after work.

I was home today for an appointment with a hematologist.

Life...it's something.

I've been saying this all day. My animals have been acting restless- all of them. Dogs are all barking right now in our neighborhood- this is unusual at this time of night. I live in a quiet neighborhood in the country, and it is usually dead up here this time of night.

I'd love to hear more of your prediction. hf

Simple27,

I tweaked the avatar you made for me. You made it a tad to big. 150x150 is what's allowed. You had it as 116x152. So while I resized it, I made it Zombie Modern more looking. So whenever a mod approves it.

THANK YOU.

No. Sorry, I didn't see your next post before I responded. I've had a very uneasy feeling all day long, and my animals were just really off the wall. Two old dogs, so very restless, all the cats chattering and zipping around the house. None of them are what you would call loud or hyper animals.

But, I don't want to take your focus away on Texas. I'm trying to concentrate, but my mind is blank, sorry.

I don't see any earthquakes reported of any magnitude in the southwest pacific. Not even below 2.5 over the past 24 hours.

That's not normal at all.

Maybe I'm dreaming and this is just a dream. Someone else take a look.

Seem pretty quiet to anyone else?

I didn't even enhance these. Had the camera on the sunset setting (which was the only one that showed the sky look the way it actually did). All I did was shrink the images so they weren't huge.

Tonight was a good one!
