Solar wind set to spark impressive auroras Wednesday night Back on September 12, the solar wind set off a brilliant display of the aurora borealis that was seen in many regions across Canada. Now, that same streamer of the solar wind is expected to sweep past Earth again, on Wednesday night and Thursday, and NOAA's Space Weather Prediction Center is forecasting another geomagnetic storm because of it. An active region popped off numerous flares while nearby a massive prominence put on quite a display before erupting (Sept. 29-Oct. 2, 2015). We counted at least eight flares. Flares are brief but intensely energetic solar storms. They appear as bright flashes in extreme ultraviolet light. The still shows a medium-sized flare early on Oct. 2. The video covers almost four days of activity. The prominence along the right edge shows plasma being pulled back and forth by magnetic forces before it finally breaks away and dissipates. Towards the end of the clip, one can see some of the plasma being pulled back into the Sun. Credit: Solar Dynamics Observatory, NASA. [ link to www.youtube.com (secure)] ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

This is the only way I can break my daughter's temps when she gets them. Cut the Tylenol to regular or in half. Too much will harm her. If she can take Advil (generic is fine), it is less harmful/toxic to her system. Especially at her young age. It damages the liver big time. PS this is what pediatricians tell you to do, at least the ones at Kaiser. Remember, you are taking the Tylenol and the Advil every 6 hours, it is just staggered to every 3 hours she is getting meds in her system. Last Edited by WhiteAngel on 10/06/2015 09:13 PM |

Quoting: ScarlettOHell Will be doing another temp check real soon. If it's still up there we'll give it a shot. As well as the off and on Tylenol/Advil suggestion. In bold is exactly my concern with this fever. Especially after what her doctor said. I looked at her throat just a little while ago...OMG! It seriously looks like parts are bleeding and other parts are about to begin bleeding. It is so bad. : ( I had no idea. All she said was she had a sore throat. Just like any other cold she has gotten. She wasn't herself, but never is when sick. Seeing her throat just blows my mind. I think I would've been crying in pain and I have a pretty high tolerance for pain. This kid is super woman (almost teen). ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

But maybe that's for us adults. That reminds me on weekend my mom was out of town. I was pretty sick so my dad gave me NyQuil, by the direction all weekend. I was like 9 or 10. Mom was so mad when she found out. But I had a fun and very weird weekend. That was back when it had all the good medicines in it. Hell, I haven't been sick enough in years to buy a bottle. I don't even know it's 10% alcohol anymore. I probably shouldn't share this. But once in school. We were about all 14. A bunch of us stole bottles of Robitussin. Each drank the whole bottle. We were all gone for a good 6 hours. It was popular at the time. Their was slang for it. But I forget it now. It almost funny we kids my age did in middle school and high school to get high. Some of it was bad. But not compared to all the shit kids that age seem to be doing. Last Edited by deanoZXT on 10/06/2015 10:58 PM-Everything's more awesome when you lean into it. |
