For my cousin...

She is just 4 years older than I am. She has gone through some rough patches...health, relationships, etc.

She met a great guy. I actually graduated high school with him. And I saw my cousin truly happy for the first time ever.

He passed away on Wednesday. : (

She is SO devastated that I don't even know what to do. I want to take her pain away, but I can't. My heart has been hurting. I have cried many times since finding out yesterday.

I pulled some photos of him/them and added some others to come up with something short and sweet for her.

This is it. My heart shatters for her right now.

Chilly Changes Could Bring Snow to Northeast

After an initial warm start to the week on Monday, with widespread highs in the 70s, a series of cold fronts through the week will allow cooler air from Canada to filter south.

The first wave will bring cooler air for midweek, but it's the end of the week and next weekend that may present the coldest air of the season to the region.

Buffalo: Above average highs in the 70s on Monday will transition to 60s on Tuesday with only 50s for the remainder of the week. Lows in the 30s are possible for the first time this season next weekend.
Cleveland: After starting the week with 70s on Monday, Tuesday through Friday may only reach the 50s or lower 60s. First lows in the 30s of the season possible next weekend.
Hartford: The week starts warm with mid to upper 70s on Monday, but highs near 70 on Tuesday will give way to highs struggling to reach 60 by Friday.
New York City: Highs in the 70s Monday and Tuesday will give way to 60s for the rest of the workweek. 50s are possible next weekend.
Pittsburgh: Also starting the week in the 70s, highs later cool into the 60s for the middle of the week and slide below average with 50s on Friday. First lows in the 30s of the season possible next weekend.

COLLAPSE OF VOLCANIC ISLAND TRIGGERS GIANT TSUNAMI, CAPE VERDE, 73000 YEARS AGO
Giant tsunami, about 73,000 years
05/10/2015 (IPMA)

"The research now published in the journal Science Advances ( [link to advances.sciencemag.org] shows that a sudden prehistoric collapse of one of the highest and active oceanic islands - the island Fogo in Cape Verde - produced a giant tsunami with catastrophic consequences. The evidence, documenting the impact of waves up to at least 220 m above present sea level, were found on the island of Santiago, 55 km east of the island of Fogo. This study rekindles debate that has lasted for decades about whether the gravity of volcanic islands occur suddenly collapse and a catastrophic way, and are capable of generating large tsunamis. This work confirms this ability to generate tsunamis of gigantic proportions.

The evidence found on the island of Santiago include boulders courses, some the size of motor caravans, as well as marine sediments covering the land surface of the island, deposited a great height above the sea level. These deposits involve the occurrence of a catastrophic marine flooding compatible only with the impact of a giant tsunami coming from the west, ie the island of Fogo. By using cutting-edge techniques for dating rocks it is estimated that the tsunami occurred at about 73,000 years old, an age compatible with pre-existing dating the collapse of the eastern flank of the neighboring island of Fogo. This study thus establishes a causal link between deposits found in Santiago fire and collapse, indicating that the breakdown has occurred in a catastrophic manner and produced a huge tsunami. Once the sea level stood then about 50 meters lower than the current, it can be inferred that the tsunami flooded the coast of the island of Santiago, in some places up to 270 meters or more altitudes.

The Fogo Island rises 2829 meters above current sea level and erupts every 20 years on average, the most recent of which was the eruption that took place between November 2014 and February this year. The active volcano that can be seen today was built within the scar of this collapse, being so tall and steep as the previous volcano to collapse. The potential energy to further collapse of large therefore continues to exist. We do not know yet if or when it will happen again. What we know is that we need to remain vigilant.

This study was led by Ricardo Ramalho, currently at the University of Bristol and had the participation of Portuguese researchers José Madeira, University of Lisbon, Rui Quartau the Sea Portuguese Institute and the atmosphere and Ana Hipólito at the University of the Azores. [link to www.ipma.pt]

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
... Last week’s column pointed out another correlation with this translation: “In terms of nature, this corresponds to eruptions in nature, like floods, earthquakes, hurricanes, tornadoes, and high winds.” We had all that last week, including biblical-like floods in South Carolina. It may not be over. On October 23, Saturn makes its third and final sesquiquadrate aspect to Uranus. Since Saturn rules the ground (earth) and governments, and Uranus represents sudden movements, disruptions, and shake ups, the consequences of the events of the past week are probably not over. They are just readying for another level of manifestation. ... [link to www.mmacycles.com]
