Your dad sounds like a really funny happy man!! Good sense of humor must run in family.
Quoting: finley Lol, oh he is full of humor that one! He's cute. It's funny, he used to be A LOT more rough around the edges, but as he's gotten older he has become a softy. I love it. I think about it now and how young my parents were during my childhood, it's like I watched them grow up/turn into true adults. When I was 6 years old my mom was 23 and my dad was 25. Crazy huh? Lol. I witnessed them growing up haha! Although they were already married and owned a home at that young age. So they were adults, but you know what I mean. Early 20's! : ) ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

I am done with round #2, no problems at all today. We will see next week if the blood numbers change. My lymph nodes that were swelling in my neck are already gone so that is a really good sign. |

Quoting: Simple27 I know the feeling. Hit 76 today. Still 73 and sun shining but by 5 it will be close to dark. I will have to see then. Crazy weird weather. It will be 46 on Thurs with rain/snow mix Quoting: WhiteAngel That's quite the extreme. We're gonna have higher than normal temps at least through Saturday. Sky has been crystal clear all day for the first time in a long time. No spraying today. At all. I love it! Can't wait to see the stars later! Visited my dad today. He was okay. Definitely in pain and uncomfortable, but he looked good considering. Still had his sense of humor. A nurse had to help him get into and out of bed a few times during our visit and because he was only wearing a johnny (haha) us girls would leave the room during the process. We came back in after they were done one of the times and he said when the nurse was checking all of the tubes coming out of him when he was situated back in the bed, he noticed someone in the window in the building right next to and across from his building. He says 'well now they know I'm Irish!' Lmao! :cruise big: But I hated seeing him like that. : ( Quoting: Simple27 That's Colorado. I have seen it drop 40 degrees in less than an hour here on many occasions, and 60 degrees once. Glad that your daddy is doing well. Old Irish are tough as nails!!!! Great news Gomez!!! A hole in the sun is going to make the skies dazzle [link to bloom.bg] [ link to www.bloomberg.com] There's a Hole in the Sun That's Going to Make the Skies DazzleGet ready for a light show. The sun’s about to spit charged particles our way. And that solar wind of protons and electrons will interact with the Earth’s magnetic field to light up the skies with a dazzling display of color through Wednesday. The solar wind coming out of a hole on the sun will almost certainly spark an aurora that may be seen by millions of people. The hole contains less material than other parts of the sun, allowing the wind to flow outward much faster than normal -- “more than two and a half times” faster, according to Robert Rutledge, a forecaster at the U.S. Space Weather Prediction Center in Boulder, Colorado. People across large parts of Asia, Europe and North America should be able to catch the aurora. Those as far south as Illinois in the U.S. may count themselves lucky. A satellite on the far side of the sun recorded a wind speed of about 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) per second from this hole, and it’s possible that may be what the Earth gets, Rutledge said. November 3, 2015 @ 19:50 UTCSolar Wind Reaches Earth (UPDATED)An expected high speed solar wind stream finally reached Earth this morning, although somewhat weaker than expected, at least as of this update. The solar wind is currently above 500 km/s and the Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) is pointing north. Minor (G1) geomagnetic storming was observed at higher latitudes following the onset of the CH stream. Additional storming, possibly reaching above Moderate (G2) levels will be possible today depending on the characteristics of the solar wind, primarily the orientation of the Bz. Should it tip south, this could help intensity geomagnetic activity. Sky watchers at high latitudes should be alert for visual aurora during the next 24 hours. UPDATE: The solar wind stream increased once again, this time to a peak of just above 750 km/s. The Bz component of the interplanetary magnetic field (IMF) is also trending south, possibly a good sign for sky watchers tonight once it is dark outside. Geomagnetic storming will remain possible during the next 24 hours while our geomagnetic field remains under the influence of the high speed solar wind. Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated SOLAR WIND BRINGS AURORAS: As predicted, a high-speed stream of solar wind has reached Earth and is buffeting our planet's magnetic field. So far, however, there has been only mild geomagnetic storming. Magnetic fields inside the solar wind stream are not well-connected to Earth's magnetic field, and that mismatch is mitigating its impact. Despite the mismatch, sky watchers are still seeing some beautiful auroras. Rocky Raybell photographed this display--split down the middle by a Taurid fireball--from Keller, Washington, during the early hours of Nov. 3rd: [ link to spaceweathergallery.com] "The auroras were not as strong as I expected," he says, "but the fireball made up for any shortcomings." Elsewhere in the United States, auroras were sighted in Michigan, Wisconsin, Montana, and even Ohio. More auroras are possible tonight, especially around the Arctic Circle, as the solar wind continues to blow. NOAA forecasters estimate an 85% chance of polar geomagnetic storms on Nov. 3rd, waning to 70% on Nov. 4th. [ link to spaceweather.com] ~*Ride the Wave*~ |

VOLCANIC LIGHTNING IN MEXICO: In southern Mexico, the Colima volcano has been in a state of near-constant activity since 1994. It's not unusual for several explosions to occur in a single day, throwing plumes of ash 2 or 3 kilometers into the sky. On Oct. 28th, Spaceweather.com reader Thorsten Boeckel was on hand for one of those eruptions--a nighttime blast--and he photographed a violent display of volcanic lightning: [ link to spaceweathergallery.com] "This mighty stroke illuminated the ash discharge, which rose up over the crater of the 3860m high Colima Volcano," he says. "Pure fascination!" [ link to spaceweather.com] ~*Ride the Wave*~ |
