Japanese taxi drivers claim 'ghost passengers' hail cabs at site of 2011 tsunami

In a bizarre, spooky tale out of the site of the deadly Japanese tsunami that in 2011 killed nearly 16,000 people, several taxi drivers are claiming to have picked up "ghost passengers," according to the local Asahi Shimbun newspaper.
A 22-year-old college student named Yuka Kudo polled 100 taxi drivers for their stories as part of her sociology graduate thesis. Most brushed her off, but seven told her of what they believed to be ghostly encounters.
In each retelling, the story is eerily similar: a cabbie says he picks up a passenger, who, shortly after is asked for the rider's destination, mysteriously disappears from the moving vehicle.
In one tale, a driver said he stopped for a woman several months after the disaster. She was wearing a coat (which was odd because it was summertime), and asked to be taken to the Minamihama district. After the cab driver told her there was nothing there since the tsunami devastated the area, she said in a shaking voice, as he remembered, "Have I died?". .

Oddball off topic question but does anybody know the risks/health dangers of soy?

I can't eat nuts because they're a migraine trigger for me and I LOVE peanut butter. I found this stuff called Wowbutter at the market the other day and it's made from roasted soy. The best part is that it tastes EXACTLY like peanut butter but with just an oh so slightly different texture...a little more grainy.

I just don't want to feed a craving but kill my insides at the same time.
 Quoting: JazzyG

I'm all plant-based, so I've definitely looked into this a little bit here and there and have found that the risk with too much soy is with eating processed soy products. If you eat processed soy foods, there may be a more heightened risk for disease. Processed soy products would be soy sausages and things that mimic meat, etc. I've also found that the Amer. Inst. for Cancer Research said that women can eat up to two or three servings of soy foods daily. Any more and you could run a higher risk for breast cancer.

I prefer ice cream during the winter. If I eat it when its' hot outside, it always makes me sick to my stomach.

Yup. That's one of the reasons I like sorbet. Most at store are too sweet so I just puree more ice to add to it.
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

Remember good old fashioned ice milk? You can't find it anymore so I just haul out the ice cream freezer and make my own. Thank G-d they have electric ones now lol, although I still have my old crank one if it's ever needed again.
