This weekend has been nothing but a bunch of bullshit emotional roller coaster stress as my mom's best friend at her work is laid off on Friday.
They are basically getting rid of anyone who knows how to do anything and cutting corners everywhere.
We both know what's coming: handwriting is on the wall that my mom is likely next on the chopping block. She and I have the same hard working ethic and it sucks that it's happening for her now but what are you gonna do.
Also on top of earthquake / tsunami prepping and getting my first article for a large national industry online publication ... I am exhausted.
And, things are not much better for me after a mysterious meeting with my boss out of nowhere bringing up some stuff for the first time when previously I have been highly praised for all of my work and only minor issues were brought up prior to that that I HAVE rectified -- and something he said that I didn't do I WAS STAYING LATE DOING RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIM TWO DAYS AGO -- they are apparently minor issues but that didn't stop him from taking digs at my new writing assignment now. Makes me think: jealousy of my latest massive accomplishment that everyone in my industry wishes they could do. |

Quoting: CuriousSeeker I should mention: this has to do with a third-party vendor changing things on our reporting without telling us. Usually they have NEVER done anything like that. My mistake was thinking that they would not change something so fundamental to the reporting template and not QA-ing that part. I have always maintained that that was my mistake and never claimed to be perfect. Yet the "minor issue" is that I get "defensive" and I am blaming them and not fixing the problem. Yet he was standing RIGHT in FRONT of me while I was fixing it and explaining to him what I was doing. That's what you FREAKING DO: you explain the problem and you fix it. Yet I am "being defensive". Sigh. Yes, I'm being defensive in this post. I never was defensive at work. Ummmm...and by the way...I DID own up to my extremely minor mistakes in the entire year I have been working there and I fixed it -- FOUR DAYS AGO. Sorry. Not two. My mind still thinks it's Friday. |

The CEO of the company (who NEVER reaches out to ANYBODY) came by my desk on Thursday, tweeted me on Twitter, and personally congratulated me on my accomplishment and to keep up the great work. :) Per my bio, he now knows that I have been doing this for 20 years and have held prior director positions. I don't want to risk destroying my entire weekend and then some again.
So: piano is a very safe and fun activity for me that I won't get dizzy doing. |

This one should be on the radar. The Cascadia lock is 15 miles below this point.... The LOCK is slipping, and quakes inland past Eureka should not be ignored! This quake was almost 13 miles down, suggesting the slip is starting to let kick into motion. How long it takes is beyond me, but the signs are there. Just look at all the activity on the coast Nor Cal over the last 30 days. This was the first inland quake to hit after a large cluster broke out on the Juan De Fuca and Gorda plates. It all lines up and everything, there's also one in a straight line from this one that happend in Burney, Cal at a section of faults that look as though they were created from the last megathrust quake.
