Birds do that all the time over the fields here in Indiana, mainly in the fall just after the last harvest. They ride the last warm summer winds before heading south. It's mesmerizing to watch.

If you ever want to see something hilarious, come to my house just after the last harvest of the corn fields. There's a huge flock of big, black, wild turkeys that swoop in on them every year to gather the fallen grain. They're clumsy as drunks when they fly! And then they fight each other over a speck of corn!

Wild turkeys can, but not domestic ones. Their weight doesn't allow them to fly for very far at all. And it's not what you'd call 'flying' like with other, lighter birds. It's more like a low to earth, run - swoop- flap flap - land - bounce - waddle waddle....then repeat.

Funny as hell to watch.

I found that a little strange. Why would this person record them if it was an everyday thing there? I've never seen anything like it in person.

I'm home. Tired, exhausted, and I just can't get a break.

Good night. Don't want to give identifying details, so this post will have to remain a mystery.

This, and I may likely be away from GLP for a few days. My payment was interrupted because I forgot to change my card to the new one my bank sent me, and Paypal won't do a new payment until at least the 27th. I sent an email to GLP but, alas, de nada. So, good bye for now.

Yup. And a little nervousness for me. I hope these storms weaken before arriving here at midnight. Our temps are going up as the night goes on. I don't know if I can stay awake all night monitoring my local weather. But I may have to try. These storms are scary. And overnight just sucks.

100 Foot Asteroid Could Pass Uncomfortably Close to Earth At 34,000 MPH On March 7th

Did you know that a huge asteroid is scheduled to make a “close shave” with our planet on March 7th? This asteroid is known as “2013 TX68″, and it is estimated to be anywhere from 80 to 170 feet in length. Most news reports are saying that it is 100 feet long. Scientists are telling us that they are not certain exactly how close this giant space rock will come, and that is rather unsettling. They say that it could come within roughly 1/20th the distance from the Earth to the moon, or that it could pass by millions of miles away.
