About 2:30 in is when the cars start to move from the rushing water.

I'm not sure what ferry route this was. The San Juan Islands are north of Seattle. Either way, it was a bad afternoon to be the front few cars. With the weather so bad, you'd think ferry workers would have not had the cars parked up that far. Also seems like the capt slowed down quite a bit after a few waves. Maybe the capt should have been going slower then usual from the start of the run.

I know this is very odd, but hold on and read. The family room is on the back side of the kitchen wall. The place I'm in is old, like 60s. construction. So the entryway, dining room, kitchen and living room are all at the front of the house. The bedrooms and main bathroom are in the back down a hallway. Then on the side of the house is the big family room, bathroom and the utility room. Now I told all you that, to tell you this.

In far end of the living room, I have a big leather chair with a foot stool with a floor lap. It's my reading chair. Yes, like an old man would have. The dishwasher is on backside of the wall right behind the chair. If I'm not on the computer and nothing is on TV or a good movie on, in the late evenings, I'll sit there and read for an hour or two.

But if everything is just right. For one, a full dishwasher, nothing to do, assuming I didn't run it earlier in the day or morning, I'll run it. Sit in the chair and read. I usually drift off for a nap by the 5th page turn. Something about the faint wishy washy wishy washy of the washer for an hour and half that's so calming. Like I'm at the ocean or something. I know, it's odd.

Too think if I'd spent the extra $200 like 8 years for the silent model dishwasher, I would have never enjoyed the wishy washy wishy washy every now and then.
 Quoting: deanoZXT

Haha. Interesting you are discussing dishwashers deano considering our dishwasher debacle currently going on right now.

But, that's funny...at first it started reading like a ghost story.

Not sure if this was posted earlier:

Thread: The Ouachita River is running backwards
 Quoting: -Haun-

This worries me. Or should it? Is it possible for torrential rain/flooding to cause a river to run backwards? I've never heard of such a thing. My god, I hope something bigger isn't in store.
 Quoting: KickinIt

I was wondering what it means too. Googled, and found this helpful. Less than 50%

Mississippi River Reversed Flow After Hurricane Isaac in 2012

A second river that has seen a reversal of flow is the Mississippi River after Hurricane Isaac in 2012. Although this backwards flow wasn’t permanent- the situation only lasted for about 24 hours- the river showed an increase of water to the extent that it was flowing faster backwards than it does forwards on average.

The amount of water that was dumped on the Mississippi River during Hurricane Isaac was enough to increase the flow of water into the mouth of the Mississippi. The water that was pushed into the Gulf of Mexico from the hurricane surged into the Mississippi River delta faster than the water coming out the Mississippi could hold it back. The Mississippi River also reversed during Hurricane Katrina in 2005. Rivers flowing backwards is a common occurrence during hurricanes alongside coastal routes around the world.
 Quoting: Isis One

Thanks, Isis! This makes me feel better because it's at least proof something other than an earthquake really can change the flow of a river. There might not be any hurricanes this time, but there has been enough rain in a short enough span that it would affect things similarly. I hope.

Yummy. Deano, how do you post pic? Do you use a camera, your phone? How do you upload them to 'puter? Once on 'puter I know what to do. TIA
 Quoting: Isis One

I usually use my camera. Pop the SD card in. Upload the pic to imgur. it's free to make an account. Even when you upload it's not public unless you make it so. Even when you link to it, as I do here or any place, it's still not public, unless someone has the link. To make a pic public, as in out there on imgur and the internet you have to choose "share with the community" option. I don't do that. Once uploaded it's in my images. I click on the pic, then to the right there are several options to copy the code. To upload here, I use the "BBCode (message boards & forums)" code to copy. Then just paste here.

When I use my phone, I just open the imgur app, and uplad my pic right to imgur. Follow the same steps as above.
