Here you go Simple (what I mentioned yesterday) and of course anyone else who is interested.
Due to the increase in earthquakes and similar patterns in earthquake activity in California as of late, I wanted to go back and visit this extremely intense earthquake that shook California in 2014.
On Friday, March 28, 2014 at approximately 9:09 p.m. (pst), a 5.1 magnitude at a depth of 4.6 miles that lasted 20 to 30 seconds shook Southern California, (La Habra- about 25 miles from downtown Los Angeles ) rather violently. It was initially reported as a magnitude-5.3, and was felt in Kern, San Bernardino, Orange, Ventura, Riverside, San Diego and Los Angeles, but was downgraded within 30 minutes.
The 5.1 quake was preceded by two foreshocks, the largest of which was a 3.6-magnitude temblor at 8:03 p.m. The temblor was also one in a sequence of more than 20 quakes that hit the area within less than two hours. A 3.4-magnitude quake was reported at 9:11 p.m. and a magnitude-3.6 at 9:30 p.m. These tremors occurred less than two weeks after a 4.4-magnitude earthquake struck near Encino on March 17, 2014 and was considered 10x more powerful.
According to many seismologists, the epicenter was not “on an obvious fault.” This fault that caused this quake was close to the Puente Hills thrust (fault) that was responsible for the 5.9 Whittier Narrows quake of 1987, which killed 8 people and caused around 350 million dollars of damage. The Puente Hills Fault is considered very dangerous and could be catasphropic. The La Habra earthquake was caused by the underground fault slipping for half a second, prompting about 10 seconds of shaking at the surface. But a 7.5 quake on the Puente Hills fault could cause the fault to slip for 20 seconds and the shaking could last far longer.
This is a fault that seismologists believe can produce a catastrophic disaster. The Puente Hills thrust fault is so dangerous because of its location, running from the suburbs of northern Orange County, through the San Gabriel Valley and under the skyscrapers of downtown Los Angeles before ending in Hollywood. Experts say a major, magnitude 7.5 earthquake on the fault could do more damage to the heart of Los Angeles than the dreaded Big One on the San Andreas fault, which is on the outskirts of metropolitan Southern California.
There were many power outages, several homes damaged, and many flooded streets due to several water mains rupturing. The 5.1 earthquake caused $2.6 million in damage in Brea, Fullerton and La Habra. Thankfully, there were no deaths/major injuries reported. Only minor injuries and many people feeling extremely shaken up due to the intensity of this quake.
More than 100 aftershocks continue to rattle California after Friday's 5.1. A magnitude-4.1 (initially a 4.4 mag) aftershock with a depth of 5.6 miles hit parts of Southern California on Saturday, March 29, 2014 at approximately 2:32 p.m. (pst). This was the largest of more than a hundred such aftershocks of Friday night's magnitude-5.1 earthquake that shook homes and businesses throughout Los Angeles.
California Getting Hammered. Six earthquakes in the last hour. News now reporting that these could be foreshocks to something bigger and to be prepared. The pattern emerging with the largest aftershocks/foreshocks at 6 hour intervals with a few minutes delay between each larger event.
(As reported on March 30, 2014): Another Significant California Earthquake Felt On March 30, 2014 just after 9 a.m. (PST) In La Habra. A Strong 2.7 Mag Struck 1-Mile Below Ground Level And Felt Across Immediate Region. A Very Active Region- Jumping Around The State, Occurring Mostly In The Greater Los Angeles Area, But Some In Northern California And Central California.

"Issuing an urgent ‘earthquake watch’ for certain areas along the edge of the North American Craton. Clearly, heavy activity building upon the Western portion of the plate, and we’re seeing a massive area become displaced — from Southern California, to Yellowstone — from Yellowstone to Oklahoma. over the past two days, the entire western portion of the plate has moved on a 4.0M basis across 1000+ miles " ~Dutchsinse

On A Side Note (As Written On March 30, 2014): Earthquakes Seem To Be Rocking A Whole Lot Of Areas. Hawaii, Yellowstone And One Area Of Concern Is Oklahoma- They Have Gotten Hammered With Back-To-Back 3's and 4's On 3-29-14 & 3-30-14. Many Have Reported Feeling These Quakes All Across Oklahoma And Parts Of Kansas. Like I Have Always Said..EVERYTHING IS CONNECTED. Prayers And Thoughts For Everyone! Stay Safe!
P.S. I found it absolutely fascinating to see the live rescue cat camera and included some of the footage of these cats behavior during some of the aftershocks after the 5.1 La Habra quake. Animals truly can sense things and are fascinating to watch when something is about to happen or is happening.
Please be safe California- there has been an increase in activity over the past several days. I am seeing many patterns revealing themselves once again and feeling very uneasy and off. Please be prepared, have an earthquake plan, and please stay safe.
