One buoy in tsunami event mode off the SE coast of Australia. Most likely will be more soon.
Quoting: -Haun- This started eventing prior to earthquake, it has evented a few times in the last couple of months and there has been 7+ eq's days after the event, it seems to be the one to watch lately Quoting: FireFleye Under Data Acesss, Select Data Type click on events, I couldn't copy and paste [ link to www.ndbc.noaa.gov] Here is list of events and eq's that followed, For Buoy 55042 1. Start 8/31/16 - Magnitude Mw 7.1 Region OFF E. COAST OF N. ISLAND, N.Z. Date time 2016-09-01 16:37:58.5 UTC 2. Start 8/15/16 South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands A magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck offshore of South Georgia and the South Sandwich Islands 240 km (150 mi) east southeast of South Georgia on August 19 at a depth of 10.0 km (6.2 mi). 3. Start 7/29/16 Northern Mariana Islands A magnitude 7.7 earthquake struck offshore of the United States trust territory of the Northern Mariana Islands 28 km (17 mi) south southwest of Agrihan on July 29 at a depth of 207.6 km (129.0 mi). Quoting: FireFleye and here it goes again, Buoy 55042 started eventing again today [ link to www.ndbc.noaa.gov] EQ today, 6.0 88km W of Honiara, Solomon Islands 2016-09-14 07:24:59 (UTC) 10.0 km Will see if anything larger coming in the area/region Quoting: FireFleye Have to comment because this is such an excellent observation, really good indicator! Also on April 10 2014 it evented, followed by a 7.2 in PNG and immediately 7.6 and 7.4 in Solomon Islands. All of them happened within three days! It will not event for such a tiny event of 6.0 this is the greatest notification we have of another major jolt. Thank you for this info! |

MRI early this morning. FINALLY. Looking forward to finally getting some real answers, which I will get at my Othopedic appointment later. Best case scenario: it is just taking longer to heal than originally thought. Worst case scenario: severe ligament or tendon tear requiring surgery. Here's hoping for the former rather than the latter.
Quoting: CuriousSeeker Praying for the former CS! Keep us posted. Quoting: Simple27 Meeee toooooo! For sure I will!!! |

Gravitational pull 'has role in quakes'The gravitational forces responsible for high tides may also play a role in triggering major earthquakes, a study suggests. A Japanese research team found that large earthquakes are more likely to occur at times of a full or new Moon. Tides arise from the effects of the gravitational interaction of the Moon and Sun on a rotating Earth. This could put extra strain on geological faults that are already close to slipping, the team reports. The researchers led by Satoshi Ide, from the University of Tokyo, have published their findings in the journal Nature Geoscience. "Large earthquakes are more probable during periods of high tidal stress," they wrote in their paper. When the tug of gravity is strongest, they added, "the probability of a tiny rock failure expanding to a gigantic rupture increases." More in link... "My inclination is to worry about the (fault) we don’t know about yet, more so than about another very large earthquake in this area,” Boak said. “My general feeling is that the rate of earthquakes is declining. I’m more concerned, I think, about whether there’s another one of these faults out here that is queued up and ready to go.” Read more here: [ link to www.kansas.com] *Apologies once again if this has already been posted* |
