I know nothing about computers so when mine died last summer I went to Best Buy and even though it cost more, they transferred everything over to my new computer. I don't know about bookmarks... Anyway, it was worth every penny to me to just come home and hook it up to my xfinity.

Could have gotten a more expensive laptop instead but probably would have lost my mind trying to get on all of my websites, paypal, etc.

Have always had HP but I just couldn't bring myself to pay so much for one this time. The last one lasted 8yrs.

Re: Earthquake Thread ~ Always Updated
From April 2016

Seismic tension continues to mount in the volatile region of the planet known as the Ring of Fire, where more than 90% of the world’s earthquakes occur, and more than 81% of the largest magnitude earthquakes occur. The extraordinary and precipitous rise in the number of large magnitude earthquakes is both astounding and alarming. On average, only about fifteen 7+ magnitude earthquakes strike the planet each year. We’ve had 2 such earthquake in less than 72 hours.

This has continued to baffle many of the world’s leading geologists, who still attest the rise in the number of large earthquakes is merely a random natural occurrence. For instance, the number of large earthquakes doubled in 2014. However, here’s what scientists had to say about it: “If you think there have been more earthquakes than usual this year, you’re right. A new study finds there were more than twice as many big earthquakes in the first quarter of 2014 as compared with the average since 1979.

[link to theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com (secure)]

Its not a direct link to USGS so just putting out there cuz I really think this year has been the biggest I have seen yet in my experience of 13 years now... And I feel it isn't done yet that more powerful earthquakes will occur before the years done...

Keep up the good watch ! Mother Earth is going thru a lot right now too, we are here on such a wonderful planet in this huge universe ! She's a diamond up to a lot of other planets ha ha !

Thanks for listening to me...

Not quite a year ago, my computer died. Several months before that I bought another one, knowing mine was aging and I needed to upgrade soon. My plan was to be proactive and get a new one and transfer all my stuff before the inevitable. Sadly, because I hate all things tech I kept putting off getting my new laptop set up with all my stuff. I barely even touched the thing after I got it- I kept using my old one because, well, it was easier. Bookmarks, etc. as Isis mentioned. Of course, the old one died out of nowhere and then I was screwed. Got it looked at and none of my stuff could bed recovered. Thankfully, for a long time I was very good about backing up photos, so a lot of those are saved to discs. But I got lazy about it those last few years and I did lose some pics that I can never get back (IMO, fuck digital, and this is one of many reasons why). And also I lost a ton of music I didn't have on other formats. And I lost a number of recipes that I had created and taken a long time to perfect.

Not sure why I'm telling this except to say I feel your pain. I hate computer stuff and I don't have any advice. It sucks because even if you plan ahead before your machine dies, it's still a ton of work and a pain in the ass to get all your stuff transferred to the one - and even then, it's not the same and you still have to start fresh in some ways. Technology is great in so many ways, but it also sucks ass in a lot of ways. To feel like you are so dependent on a damn machine is maddening and feels really helpless.

Sorry about the rant folks. Simple and Isis, here's to hoping you can find resolutions to your tech issues soon without too much hassle.
