To clarify those extreme latitude quakes, it's bad when one (north or south) pops up, let alone when they both occur within short period of time.

Estimate on exact latitudes are 65N+ and 55S+, meaning 65 north or more and 55 south or more. Those seem to pop up before major quakes. Magnitudes need to be over 4, in some instances over 5. That is the rough guide.

For the lack of better words, I believe we are in deep shit at the moment.. :/

For several weeks in March and April 2011, a swarm of earthquakes has shaken the ground near Hawthorne, Nevada.
snip:
Geologists distinguish between tectonic and volcanic earthquakes by looking at the waveforms recorded by seismographs. High-frequency events with a sharp onset—like a drum beat—are tectonic. Earthquakes that are long lasting and low- or medium-frequency—like a sustained note—are likely to be volcanic.

This is one of our 'trigger' earthquakes. Our Finland friend had pointed this out and it had held true. I think?

 Quoting: Simple27

Simple very worried when I got home, both latitudes.. far north and south. Macquarie Island paired with Nunavut.

A day before the 7.9 in New Ireland Region on 12/16/2016 Pacific-Antarctic ridge had an event.

Personal opinion: These both are triggers. Usually before a very large earthquake (7.5+ at the least) these polar and close to Antarctic latitude earthquakes happen.

Especially the timing of these two quakes is worrying and the 8+ timeframe we are entering.

Will get some correlations on Nunavut. What I'm trying to say is, all the elements are there that there could be an 8+ right now this moment.

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com/AP) — A giant sequoia tree known for the huge tunnel carved through it has been taken down by a historic storm pummeling California.

The Pioneer Cabin tree in Calavares Big Trees State Park was toppled by the storm that has caused widespread flooding, strong winds and power outages throughout Northern California.

The tree was hollowed out in the 1180s to allow tourists to pass through it and later cars, but more recently has only hosted hikers.
