Four of Iceland's main volcanoes all preparing for eruption

According to geophysicist Páll Einarsson, four of Iceland's volcanoes are showing increased amounts of activity in preparation for another eruption.

Katla is the most active that it's ever been in four decades. "Katla has been unrestful since this autumn."

The other volcanoes showing increased activity are Hekla, Grímsvötn and Bárðarbunga

Well this is concerning. Katla most active in 4 decades? 4 different volcanoes with increased activity? Yikes!

Some maintain that heavy rainfall triggers quakes. California 6+ during this month is a real possibility per patterns as warned earlier.

Things like this which may affect faultlines are alarming.

Also: anyone else experiencing ear ringing or aching? Not necessarily affiliated with quakes but today has been really painful. I don't recall having ear ache before. IF it's a quake precursor then Europe is in for a ride.

I have heard that about heavy rainfall, but I haven't heard of any studies proving correlation. Although I haven't searched for it. I do think it's interesting as well as plausible.

And yes, I have had a lot of ear ringing. I know I've said this, but ear ringing is not something I experience often. It's a once-in-a-while thing for me. But the last week+ it's been ringing like crazy. Sometimes strong, sometimes weak, sometimes high pitch, sometimes low. It's very strange, and not the norm for me.

This footage coming out of New Orleans is amazing. Some really good footage. Scary stuff. Poor New Orleans, they can't catch a break.

We lucked out w/the storms here. Ended up just being thunderstorms. Short lived and no hail. Was upper 60's here today. Tomorrow? 30s and a chance of light snow (no accumulation, so I can't even get excited about it). By friday 60, and Saturday 70. wtf

Hi peeps! I have a little bit of catching up to do here, but wanted to drop this before I forget. I don't think anyone has posted this. Some interesting stuff in this article:

Does an anomaly in the Earth’s magnetic field portend a coming pole reversal?

[link to theconversation.com]

some excerpts:

What currently has geophysicists like us abuzz is the realization that the strength of Earth’s magnetic field has been decreasing for the last 160 years at an alarming rate. This collapse is centered in a huge expanse of the Southern Hemisphere, extending from Zimbabwe to Chile, known as the South Atlantic Anomaly. The magnetic field strength is so weak there that it’s a hazard for satellites that orbit above the region – the field no longer protects them from radiation which interferes with satellite electronics....

...These analyses reveal an astounding feature: There’s a patch of reversed polarity beneath southern Africa at the core-mantle boundary where the liquid iron outer core meets the slightly stiffer part of the Earth’s interior. In this area, the polarity of the field is opposite to the average global magnetic field. If we were able to use a compass deep under southern Africa, we would see that in this unusual patch north actually points south.

This patch is the main culprit creating the South Atlantic Anomaly. In numerical simulations, unusual patches similar to the one beneath southern Africa appear immediately prior to geomagnetic reversals....
