7/23/15 Moving from falsehoods to facts brings us to the large fuzzy spiders found in this area. In the Ozarks, tarantulas typically inhabit dry, rocky glades and, in late summer and early fall, can often be seen crossing roads. This tarantula “wandering” occurs because it’s their mating season and males are actively seeking females. [ link to www.baxterbulletin.com] Quoting: Whistlin' Dixie It's weird. Quoting: Whistlin' Dixie I actually agree with you. Rather see a spider than one of those freaks of nature! I had never seen one before. Was up on the police departments roof (just 4 stories up) and was leaning against a brick wall. Caught something out of the corner of my eye and there was my first encounter with a humongous ROACH!!! I have always prided myself in being tuff girl - not a girlie girl - but let me tell you - I screamed like a little girl and ran down the stairs and told my story. The Texans all laughed at me. |
