$10 per gram?!

A very small meteorite could easily weigh a pound (or two). So a 1 pound meteorite cashes in at $4,530.00!!

It's very lucrative. But the legal battles to follow should be fun. Does the meteor belong to the finder or the person whose property it is on?

What if it falls on school property? Will that district/city get in on the legal battle for the proceeds of selling space rocks?

I am up!! I was wiped out after today. Had my second job interview this week with a law firm. The interview lasted almost 2 hours!! Great sign there already.

It went very well. I am always up front with my hearing impairment with potential employers, but highlight the fact that I have been successful in past positions anyway (which is true). He said "You don't need hearing to do (my career)." I love this guy! Hahahaha. The guy's a fan, and has my industry articles bookmarked. He loved one of my latest industry articles. (YAY).

He also wasn't bothered by my cane. I explained the situation with that as well, that it is only temporary, and that I am at the tail end of recovery (which is also true).

He came right out at the end of the interview and said he thinks I would be a great fit there, but does have other interviews.

Crossing fingers. Haven't heard from the other job yet after my thank you note followup, so it's not a no yet at least - that's a good sign. Also sent a thank you note and follow up to the person I interviewed with today.

One more interview tomorrow!!! God I hope so. I don't want to be constantly worried about money anymore. :( Being forced to pay an extra $450/mo for fucking COBRA when all your bills exceed fucking unemployment is such a bull shit stupid shit thing to have to go through.

A Space Magnet, Hunting Dark Matter, Turns Up Juicy Secrets of Cosmic Rays

When primary cosmic rays collide with interstellar media — the unknown, unseeable stuff between stars — that media comes to life, sending its own streams of charged particles out into space, said Samuel Ting, a professor of physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology who won the Nobel Prize in 1976 for discovering the first of a strange new class of particle made up of both matter and antimatter quarks.

And in a new paper published Jan. 11 in the journal Physical Review Letters, Ting and his colleagues have charted further just what those particles are and how they behave. Specifically, the researchers described the charges and spectra of particles of lithium, beryllium and boron nuclei that slam into Earth's atmosphere — building on earlier results describing the charges and spectra of helium, carbon and oxygen rays.

"To study these [particles], you need to put a magnetic device in space, because on the ground, charged cosmic rays are absorbed by the 100 kilometers [62 miles] of atmosphere," Ting told Live Science.

North Korea prepares for massive military parade ahead of Olympic Games

North Korea is preparing to stage a major military parade on the opening night of its Winter Games in its southern neighbor next month, despite a rare consensus with Seoul, media reported on Thursday.

Pyongyang, which has raised major international concern by continuing nuclear and missile tests in recent months, has agreed to send athletes to the Games and walk under a single flag at the opening of the Games in Pyongyang from Feb. 9 to 25.

But Pyongyang has also vowed to press ahead with the 70th anniversary of its military, the South Korean news agency Yonhap reported. The North plans to hold a massive parade on February 8, the eve of the opening of the Games in the south.

Super blue blood moon eclipse: What you need to know

A super blue blood moon? Yes!

It is happening on the last day of this month. A blue moon typically gets its name when it occurs as the second of two full moons in one calendar month.

The Jan. 31 full moon is also the third in a series of three straight full moon supermoons – that is, super-close full moons. It’s the first of two blue moons in 2018. So it’s not just a lunar eclipse, or a blue moon, or a supermoon. It’s all three – a super blue moon eclipse.

Is it the first blue moon total eclipse in 150 years in America.
