Tonight's full moon is the last Full Moon of Winter. It is called the Worm Moon because of the earthworms that come out at the end of winter.

Well, my youngest son is getting married March 31. They're going to get married at the courthouse and then go back to their house for a barbecue/reception. They asked my husband and I to be their witnesses and I got elected to plan the reception and make the cake. "But you've done so many mom and we don't know what we're doing." sigh...how can you resist that? lol

And I was trying to knit them an afghan for their sofa as a wedding present and I'm no where near done with it.

Looks like the afghan will be for Christmas instead. I'm gonna be too damn busy...lol

Well, thank goodness February is over with. Record cold month for the state, record snow in many areas of the state. I bet they won't get the Going to the Sun highway in Glacier Park open until August, if at all! East Glacier has had 20 feet of snow so far this winter, and that is the dry side! That is a new record! But, we aren't done yet! Heavy snow coming again this weekend!

Miles City had 19 days below zero in February, a new record, and the temp averaged 4.3 degrees.

Funny you mention this. My youngest sister who recently got engaged initially planned on a 250 person guest list and had to choose her reception venue based on one that could accommodate that many people and still be a place she loved. My parents put the $2,000 deposit down on a beautiful, waterfront venue that my sister visited and loved.

She's totally changing her mind about everything lol. Now she wants something smaller and more intimate. She always wanted a barn-style/country wedding, but our other sister did that and had the best barn venue around here for her reception and my youngest sister doesn't want to have the same venue. So she's now talking about renting/having a big tent put up in my parents' backyard with no more than 75 people. It would have a dance floor installed and we'd have a DJ and caterer and all of that still, but it's just funny to me how she completely night and day'ed on this lol.

I think that is such an honor to be asked to make the wedding cake for your son's wedding. : )

And to plan it, but wedding planning is stressful and a lot of work. If I can be of any help let me know. wink

It's just family so it's going to be a blast. As for the cake, I've got it covered. I made my daughters cakes. My mom was a professional baker, specializing in wedding cakes and taught me everything she knew. But this one isn't going to be anything elaborate. Their theme is camo...oh joy. I know just what I'm gonna do...yeehaw!

Wow! I hope your parents can get the deposit back on the waterfront! I would have loved to have a barn style wedding myself so I can see her desire for one. Good choice.

I'm trying to talk them into seeing if the local VFW park is available for that day. Their house is soooo tiny and if it's raining....omg. The park has a big pavilion, a huge rock grill and it only costs $25 to rent it for the day. They could do the wedding and reception right there since it's just immediate family and not have to worry about going to the courthouse.

Yes, you definitely have to consider rain, a plan B. If the pavillion is covered that would be perfect for rain or shine! And you can't beat that price! Wow!

I like the smaller, more intimate idea myself. The problem is, my sister and her fiance have a TON of close friends. And both have big families so cutting that 250 list down to 75 or less involves cutting out a lot of family...picking and choosing which family members are invited. That's tough stuff. And especially tricky with my family.

As for me, never getting married.

I went up the hill behind my house, and there are drifts across the road that are 5 to 6 feet! I don't think my plow would get through it! I angle the blade and need somewhere for the snow to go. If it is that deep, it will just pile up in front of the tractor. Not good!
