Lol, well enjoy your sunrise, have a good day, I'm going to try and get some shut eye. Like Simple said it's going to be a long week for those of us sensitive to moonshine, lol.

Not me. My hips/legs don't do well when I sleep too long. 6 hours max.

Any more than that and I have some problems. I guess that is to be expected when you've dealt with being in an immobilizer brace for 24 hours a day for 8 months.

But what caught my attention was the planet shining brightly near the moon. Jupiter. : )

This one is just a cell pic. Jupiter is on the left, looking like no more than a star. [link to imgur.com (secure)]

Nice pics! I noticed Jupiter last Saturday sitting out on my friends' deck. You could see it really early in the evening - wasn't even all the way dark, and this was in a fairly lit up section of the city. We weren't sure if was Jupiter - had to get out someone's stargazing app to find out for sure.

That long week has already begun here. Woke up at 7:30 this morning and couldn't go back to sleep. Unlike you guys, the moon doesn't make me want to stay up all night. It just makes me sleep like shit and wake up early. Doesn't matter how tired I am.

So your mom's buying you a car?? Or are you saying you want to get a new car because she's getting one? I guess it doesn't really matter, either way enjoy it. It is fun to get a new car. I am not really a "car" person. Dosn't need to be new, doesn't need to be flashy. I will drive a car until it's on it's last leg. Last car I had 11 years. Finally sucked it up and bought a new car 2 years ago, and I am STILL giddy about it. It just feels so good to have a car where everything works, I'm not worried about something going wrong, etc. Oh, and satellite radio is the shiznit!

Have fun!

Century’s Longest Total Lunar Eclipse - Get Ready for a Rare Astronomical Event

Thousands of skywatchers are preparing for the next rare celestial event. The Total Lunar Eclipse of July 27-28 is the next biggest astronomical phenomenon this year.

This is the second and last total lunar eclipse of 2018.

What's more interesting?
The July 2018 full moon presents the longest total lunar eclipse of the 21st century (2001 to 2100) on the night of July 27-28, 2018, lasting for a whopping 1 hour and 43 minutes.

So, the Moon will be totally eclipsed for about 103 minutes. From beginning to end, it will last for 6 hours and 14 minutes.

This lunar eclipse is primarily visible from the world’s Eastern Hemisphere (Europe, Africa, Asia, Australia and New Zealand). South America, at least in part, can watch the final stages of the eclipse just after sunset July 27, whereas New Zealand will catch the beginning stages of the eclipse before sunrise July 28. North America, most of the Arctic and much of the Pacific Ocean will miss out entirely, as shown on worldwide map below.

I'm shocked you're up so early! I'm almost done with my first mug of coffee, but I still feel delirious. I went to bed around 12:30 and woke up at 7:30. That's not nearly enough sleep for me. At least it's the weekend, though.

I may or may not go to work today. Has anyone ever decided to not go to work on time, just to get a couple more hours of sleep?

I'm already at the point where 2 hours of extra sleep in a day may very well be worth a career change hahahah
