They shook my windows Quoting: whiteangel Oh dear, we may well be whiteangel...I'm very surprised. I checked the satellite earlier and I saw we 'may' get some heavy showers but this one was a belter. We don't really get that many 'crazy thunderstorms' in these here parts of the world and all I can say is it was a good thing I am on my laptop, I had to switch everything else off and dive for cover. Just checked the satellite again and we've got a conveyor of thunderstorms coming into central England. Quoting: Vesper33 That's very interesting indeed, could be the camelopardalids and in fact it probably is since linear had a wide debris field, but in order to establish this, we need to know where this is taken from. I think it's Lasco C2 so it'd be the SOHO craft on its halo orbit, so I'm gonna try to find out where it is and then see where Earth is positioned wrt this. If it isn't this then it's definitely one for Spock. |

Good Morning Everyone Sorry i just disappeared last night fell asleep typing lol EL SALVADOR - At least 1,000 people living near the Chaparrastique volcano have been evacuated as a precautionary measure after seismic activity increased at the volcano, Salvadoran civil protection authorities said Monday. There was an explosion early Monday and the volcano then spewed reddish ash, officials said. The Civil Protection Department said in a statement that an alert had been declared for the municipality of San Miguel, where the volcano is located. The city of San Miguel itself is 50 kilometers from the volcano. It is one of the largest cities in the Central American country. The 2,129-metre volcano is about 145 kilometers east of San Salvador, the capital of El Salvador. The volcano’s last significant eruption was in 1976. [ link to theextinctionprotocol.wordpress.com] |

Although there are more than half-a-dozen sunspots on the solar disk today, not one has the type of complex magnetic field that harbors energy for strong eruptions. Solar flare alerts: text, voice ANTICIPATION BUILDS FOR WEEKEND METEOR SHOWER: This weekend, Earth will pass through a stream of debris from Comet 209P/LINEAR. If forecasters are correct, the encounter could produce an outburst of bright meteors numbering more than 200 per hour. Quoting: Earth420 Yep it's been a while, Earth...so I have asked the guys over at the Solar thread on some advice since I found Stereo A/B but not SOHO. Hopefully one of them can help...but it's probably trivial anyway, if that is linear then its signature would be quite large owing to a wide field and also the high reflectivity we'd expect of its ice crystals: both of which would add to its prominence even on Lasco...and, now I'm gonna duck. |

The parent comet doesn’t appear to be very active now, so there could be a great show, or there could be little activity.” Image at right: Map of projected peak viewing for 2014 May Camelopardalids meteor shower. North Americans are favored because their peak occurs during nighttime hours while the radiant is high in the sky.
