And what have Luis and I been saying since 2011?????

It really is happening

It sure looks like it to me!

We've always been on the same page with it. They keep using all those record heat numbers for 2012 during the peak of the solar max. Yes we still get record heat but the record cold is almost double from what I last saw. Wish I knew where I saw that data to link here.
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

I know it is getting colder at the 4000 foot level because we have had to quit growing spring wheat, and alfalfa may be next. It's too cold!

My porch tree lights gave out,,only half lit,,
screw it, unplugged, I'm done. And the wind keeps blowing over over the white light deer, so put back in the shed.
I put a red bow on the mailbox, that is all there's going
to be this year.

You've had lots of weather there the past month! I don't blame you for no longer wanting to fight the elements. A red bow on the mailbox sounds cute. : )

Sometimes keeping it simple works best. wink

I think we'll skip the outdoor lights this year. The indoor tent lights are more important lol. But once the living room is finished up I would like to decorate it. Won't be much longer now.

The work thing sounds stressful, I wish you luck with all that. It's a hard decision. If you don't have the note yet then that might buy you a bit more time.
 Quoting: KickinIt

Thank you, and that's exactly my hope. A little more time to think about this major life decision. I sent the email and requested a return date of Monday, January 6th. I need the additional time. I'm so nervous about the reply I will receive.

It hurts financially, but it's worth it when it comes to health. Gotta stay alive and all. : )

You know what pisses me off? Situation when old documents before WW2 are throwed away into trash.Meanwhile Funko Pop figures sell for hundreds of dollars on Ebay.People have no respect for history anymore.I'm glad I'm the one who respects history of my country and saved 5 kg of those documents cool2
 Quoting: Gaude Mater Polonia

Good on you! It's important to save true history. It's also important to document and save the present, as it will be history in the future. And we know how history 'changes'.

I want to make a time capsule and hide/bury it. There's been some very notable events in our lifetime that I'm guessing history books won't portray accurately. cool2

Went in a month ago or so for 2nd overnight for sleep apnea. They were able to control the apneas but I will still have to have oxygen as well at night. Saw the sleep doc Last Friday and they told me they would put in my order with the same company I get my oxygen from and it would likely take 2-4 weeks for insurance approval.

The company called me Wednesday and will be here to my house on Monday to set the CPAP up and make sure I know how to use it. Now that was fast.

I have a horrible time trying to sleep. I wake up. I toss and turn. I hurt and need to more move. I choke and snort which wakes me up. Daughter tells me she is surprised I get any real sleep at all.

Told this to the sleep doc, so she gave me a script for Ambien to help break the cycle and to also help be sleep while adjusting to the CPAP.

One more note on this, during the 2nd sleep study, they stated my sleep apnea was moderate to severe and my machine would be set for those with more severe apnea.

Have been under going a lot of heart testing now also, just to make sure my breathing problems aren't damaging my heart nor are being made worse by my heart. Waiting on some of those test results.
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

Keeping you in my thoughts Angel. It is good to read that things are speeding up in regard to finding the best way for you to coop with it and get regular sleep in. hugs
 Quoting: InterMezzo

Thank you my sweet friend hugs
Spent yesterday learning everything I can about CPAP. Joined a CPAP forum and holy moly there is a lot to know. Sheesh - it is a bit overwhelming. They come out tomorrow to my house to bring the machine and all that goes with it plus education, so I want to be armed with good facts.

Here is the link in case others with OSA would like to learn:

No tree up here. Daughter is going to do it after she gets home from a date at the mall (it is new so they want to hang out in a no pressure place).

Never in my life has the house NOT been decorated already....grrrrrrrr

Since hubby was laid off in Sept, the only thing that has kept him from slipping into depression is the kitties. He in love with those two sweet babies!

Did I ever mention I am allergic to them? I see a new doc soon, Immunologist/allergist. I know they are going to say to re-home the kitties. I will say, allergy shots instead even if it means weekly shots for 5 years!!! Can't get rid of them, I seriously fear my family would fall apart if that happened.

Maybe a few prayers, that is they are the cause of the asthma issue, that could be healed??
 Quoting: WhiteAngel

Big prayers coming your way WA!

If it makes you feel better, this is what my living room looks like right now. It's gonna be a bit before I can get a tree. : (

We should be having our annual cookie bake-off pretty soon. The younger generation kinda took that over last year so we'll have to see how that goes..

Christmas isn't as big of a show as Thanksgiving is at the splinter household. All of the kids save one are older and either married or dating seriously...they all go elsewhere.

We do a little quick gathering on Christmas day with superbowl type foods.

I'd love to try some of those caramels!!
 Quoting: mistersplinter

Wooo, a cookie bakeoff sounds fun! My caramels are pretty good, I've mastered them over the years. They will eventually be doused in dark chocolate and sprinkled with sea salt, but that's for another day. At least I have all my batches made. I also make 2 other candies/truffles that will need chocolate dousing too, so I usually try to get all the candies made in advance, then do the chocolate dipping for everything at one time. My whole house smells like chocolate for about 2 days after that.

Parts of the Capital Region of NY are already in excess of 12" with the first round of the event ongoing. Depending on how tomorrow's snow band evolves, it's not out of the realm to see >=24", which would be one of Albany's largest snowstorms on record.
