He's one of the all time greats, in my opinion. such a funny man. I saw an interview w/him since this pandemic started and he became house-bound. Mel and Carl Reiner (who is 97) are neighbors and they usually get together every night for dinner. Obviously they have not been able to do that in recent months. Makes me kind of sad for them.
ETA: Here's an article about it. Also, I was wrong, Reiner is 98! How best friends Mel Brooks, 93, and Carl Reiner, 98, are coping with social distancing: 'We turn on 'Jeopardy' at the same time' [ link to www.yahoo.com (secure)] He made sooo many funny movies. You had to watch them over and over just to see all of the comedy that goes by in the movie. More and more laughs every time. He pushed the boundaries.
