I was thinking about and looking at all these Kermadec quakes, and I realized Fiji has been super quiet, despite all the activity nearby. The energy (at least some of it) should be going in the direction of Fiji from the Kermadecs, and there has been A LOT of movement in the Kermadecs/North NZ since the beginning of March (a M8, 2 M7s, and 10 M6s).

To add to this, there was a 6.0 in Fiji on April 1st - a deep one, at 598km. There was only 1 other quake that followed that day(a M4), but it was well to the north in a totally different location. There has only been one true aftershock of the 6.0, which was a M4 the next day (only Fiji quake that day). The 3rd, 4th and 5th of April also only saw 1 Fiji quake each day, all mid 4s. No quakes at all since the 5th.

Does all of this seem weird to anyone else? The lack of aftershocks from the 6.0 is odd, the recent overall volume of quakes is very low for Fiji, and then on top of it all Fiji has been surrounded by very large quakes (and aftershocks) just to the south for an entire month (and to the SW in Loyalty Islands, if you go back to February).

I guess this means we should watch Fiji?
