That song Blessings upon the throne of tyranny is brutal as hell for black metal. I'm pretty sure you guys have heard of it before. I hear that many black metal elitist's a usually frown upon Dimmu Borgir for their very clean sound production, but I don't see what the big deal is. Let the artists do want they want to do, clean production is fine.

I've actually been into black metal since the first church burnings back in the early 90's, and was into death metal before that...

I will admit, that some of the older black metal, that was intentionally done with shitty sound quality, would not, to me, sound better with better quality (Emperor, Burzum), but I do dig the better production on the newer releases...

Its kinda like listening to OLD blues, when it was recorded back in the 20's and had that eerie sound to it...I do not want to ever hear Robert Johnson's music, recorded with todays technology.

Same goes for some of the older Black Metal, the lesser quality, gave it a whole different level of ambience that I still dig to this day.
