User ID: 49213276 United States 10/31/2013 12:47 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | it is a TELEVISION show It has producers and directors and production assistants I am sure they send people all over Nevada looking for people to come in and Pawn Stuff. Could you get more money selling your things at an auction or through a private sale Probably but you go to a pawn shop because you need money NOW not in a few weeks, or months or years. All "reality" TV is edited, conversations are "baited" or prompted. It's not a documentary of real life in a pawn shop it is entertainment. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 47120597 United States 10/31/2013 01:28 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | I bet the producers screen all of the people who are selling the things that make it onto the show in advance. That way they can prearrange for the main characters to conduct some advanced research on the items so they can speak about them in an educational/informative manner while recording and also prearrange for the 'experts' to conveniently show up when the item arrives. When you hear the younger guy (Corey) speak about the items being featured, you can sense that this is not first-hand knowledge that he gained but something he would have researched/looked up in advance - he doesn't sound very authentic when he speaks about these things but more like he's regurgitating something he recently learned (however his dad does sound knowledgeable though but that's from his experience). Plus it wouldn't be realistic if the customers were coming in spontaneously with these featured items and they were asking them to wait around the shop while they owners tried to conveniently arrange for their appraisers to show up at the shop in a timely manner to review them.... |

If I am not personally interested, I turn it off. But I sure don't want be on the wrong end of two people who think a "signed" document from some dead guy needs a 3rd idiot like Chumley to give up a pound of flesh to make it "real". Even though he seems to have many pounds of flesh and is therefore uniquely able to give. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 49102145 United States 10/31/2013 01:43 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | She says she went through a normal hiring procedure. She said it was to be hired on to work for the Pawn Shop, not the TV show. If you notice during the show there are many employees that never get on the show to speak. So they find some old porn pictures of her and she gets booted from the show but she still is supposed to work for the Pawn shop. But as soon as she gets booted from the show then she no longer works for the Pawn shop either. I'm calling BS. I bet she never really worked for the Pawn Shop and was merely hired to work on the show. If she workd for both then she obviously did it to get on the show and had no desire to work for a Pawn Shop. Ego maniac, worthless piece of garbage. . |

On that show they buy a worthless gun, get dressed up and shoot a worthless gun, and wear pretty cool sunglasses when doing it. |

The proof is when they offer people more money than they were asking. |

I bet the customers receive some type of small cash payment ($500-$1000?) for agreeing to allow themselves to be filmed for the show and have their faces shown on national TV... This payment probably influences them to eventually settle for less money then they were originally intending or asking for as the show would not be very appealing if deals were seldom made. |
Anonymous Coward User ID: 8587093 United States 10/31/2013 09:50 AM Report Abusive Post Report Copyright Violation | Its fake, I know for a fucking fact bc a guy in our town is an expert in war artifacts and they were going to use him on one thing as an expert amd then ended up making him say it was his and pretend to sell it. That stupid bald fuck, the fat stupid fuck x2, and that old fuck can all go to hell. They just jew people on shit who have gambling and drug problems, no honor in money that comes like that. |

Fuck TV reality shows, there all bullshit Inside every cynical person, there is a disappointed idealist. I am open to any and all sides of a story but beware,I have a biased opinion from life experiences just like you. |

Hey come back in 3 days when we are filming. I was just there visiting and had to stand outside FOREVER until they were done. That pawn shop is very very tiny. It takes like one minute to walk through. about 1/4 of the shop is selling all sorts of t-shirts...ect from the show. . |

Good logical thinking for you right there. I too have thought of similiar things about this TV show. There have been alot of items that have cropped up there that have seemed to be worth considerably less than $100... not $1000+. Jewelery being one item that I can easily believe is worth $1000+, most everything else, nope. Conspiracy Theorist is nothing more than a derogatory title used to dismiss a critical thinker.
