The time of the sealing of the 144,000 is right now. The Two Witnesses of Rev. 11.3 are here. Their "clock" hasn't yet begun. We are currently living in the time of the Sixth Seal and the Sixth trumpet.
Maybe this will give you some guidance.

If they die a few days before the 7thn trump sounds the the 5th seal (prophecy) is about the ones already dead being told to wait until they are dead, you can't be waiting and doing things at the same time. The two witnesses are not called and then just left sitting there. None of the trumps have sounded yet and the 6th seal is prophecy about the beginning of the 7th trump and the 7 vials that it brings in.
