Solar activity increased to moderate levels on Tuesday morning with an impulsive M2.5 solar flare around sunspot 1890 at 08:18 UTC. This appears to be in conjunction with an eruption in the southeast quadrant that generated a coronal mass ejection (CME) now visible in the latest LASCO C2 imagery. So far it appears the plasma cloud is heading mostly towards the south.

OP, this is how determining if it is earth directed was explained to me.....

On Stereo A cor2, if the blast is heading to the left of the picture, then it is earth facing. On Stereo B cor2, if the blast is heading right, then it is earth directed.
