Hasn't dropped much in last 1/2 hour.

Keeps bouncing between 110 and 120 miles altitude. Wonder how it is fighting against gravity if it is out of fuel? I wonder if they are still able to control it ... like on cruise control of sorts?

sort of dispels the gravity theory in place of the atmospheric pressure holding everything in place theory.

Keeping the spacecraft up for an extra month (to 19 Oct 13) seems unlikely, and going any further seems highly improbable. One way or another, Tiangong 1 is coming home fairly soon.
The re-entry of Tiangong 1 will be interesting for observers. It is a large spacecraft that is certain to leave a visual trace in the atmosphere. It also has a low density and two large solar panels.
These complicate the physics of its journey through the atmosphere, making its behaviour in the atmosphere somewhat difficult to predict. For this reason, China will need to give wide error margins in its expected splashdown zone."

First of all, as an avid sky watcher I can TELL you there is not that much debris over our heads or we wouldn't be able to see the stars for the wall of junk above us. Secondly, they are setting the stage for an even greater deception! A time is coming very soon when fire will rain down on this earth because of God's judgment (long overdue, btw)and when this begins to take place, no doubt these same lying anchor people will tell you it is just "space junk" that ran out of fuel.

Pfieeew! I thought the red dot is where the esitimated crashsite is.. That's where my house is. But it's the observatory:)

Is 'RA:' the estimated time it comes down??

It has dropped 16 km in the last half hour. I will be surprised if it is still in orbit tomorrow morning.

It's in the table on the right titled "altitude". It just gained 2 miles in altitude, so my prediction may be in error. I didn’t expect to see such variability in terms of those figures. That is interesting.

If it is out of fuel,...how is it gaining in altitude seth?

My guess is that it is skimming along the top of our atmosphere like a pebble skipping upon a pond. However, I did not expect to see the altitude vary as much as it is. It has to make for a rough ride.

Maybe I jumped the gun posting this so early. I now read where the experts predict final re-entry Sunday or Monday. As for the altitude readings, I was also fooled because it seemed to be dropping like a rock when I first looked and then began to climb in altitude. I think it's in a elliptical orbit with ascending and descending nodes. Most meteors burn up at around 30-60 miles up, so GOCE still has a way to go before entering the 'danger zone'.

Ha, I thought the same thing. I clicked on 'predictions' and saw the dot on my home state. Then I realized it's just a geolocator zoomed in on my computer. I don't think there is any way to predict where it will fall.

Tracking page just went down.

yeah the page went dead after I saw it over NY.

URL back up. GOCE's altitude was actually a little higher (again) than before the page went down. In reading over the previous posts, I see it has done this several times already.

Altitude is finally below 100 mi again. Maybe it will stay below it this time.

This thing has increased speed, and the altitude has really been bouncing.

no way that's gonna drop tomorrow.

What's going on with it? I haven't been able to get the tracking page to load all day today.
