Yeeeah right. Obsolete system. Open University system is the only hope... otherwise you'll all end up working for one of the NWO companies directly or indirectly. [link to www.open.ac.uk] |

If you learn a trade, in most cases, you will have little problem finding work. Skilled trades always seem.in demand. You can.be more independent. But most college degrees these days seem to be in liberal arts or biology. Lib arts is useless and bio is only meaningful as a stepping stone to an advanced degree like re med, vet etc. |

I immediately started taking classes that summer at the local community college. No loans. I had a little money saved as I worked in high school to pay for my own CC classes. I entered into the automotive design co-op program. After 6 months in that program, the company I worked for hired me direct. I never did finish my 2 year degree at the community college. Now, 25 years later, I make nearly $80K/year, full benefits, stable employment, and I love what I do as an automotive CAD designer. I chose the best path for me. |

If you haven't heard of it, check it out: Quoting: *Rhombus* [link to profoundlydisconnected.com] Hi Rhombus, You found a jewel in this program. Most of the 4 year education propaganda which has been fed to your young people is just that. In my opinion, it is far more valuable to possess skills. Skills that are marketable and useful. Knowledge is a powerful tool. I personally make my living by using my knowledge to design and create for clients. As a side note, if anyone is interested in gaining knowledge in the field of science and technology; MIT is offering most of their courses free of charge, on-line. The catch is you do not receive credits for the course work but you can learn and absorb all of the knowledge free of charge. Here is a link [link to ocw.mit.edu] It's called "OCW" for Open Course Ware. It's free to all wish to gain knowedge. But we also are what we think". “Liberals claim to want to give a hearing to other views, but then are shocked and offended to discover that there are other views." -William F. Buckley Jr. |

Quoting: SheldonReturns Perhaps not. Still, how does that negate his message? He chose to go to college and has had a great career because of it. Should everyone feel pressure to go to college? No. He admires the folks he met during his work on Dirty Jobs and wants kids to know there's no shame in learning a trade. That's the entire point. He is famous and makes his money thanks to his degree. Its the same as Jesse Ventura complaining about rich corrupt politicians when he was one himself. Mike Rowe was accused of “living in a mansion”, his response is legendary [link to youngcons.com] |

Because after a 4 year degree you qualify to sell cell phones and every other poor existence in a cubical. All while going to school creating school loans for jobs that are not and will not be there. Oh yeah school loans that follow you forever! |

If you haven't heard of it, check it out: Quoting: *Rhombus* [link to profoundlydisconnected.com] The problem is the same the the 4 year degree problem. Going in the trades and skilled labor is not any better. Trades and skilled labor has a preference to hire illegals/undocumented workers because they are cheaper and can be made to work longer hours and under worse conditions. Just like how 4 year degree jobs are outsourced and given preference to overseas educated individuals because they can be paid lower, made to work longer hours and under worse conditions. Whether you choose a degree or a trade makes no difference. I know people who have chosen either path, and they are in the same boat .... long term unemployed. |
