They use their faith as a guide and not a platform from which to manipulate or demand conformity. I respect the hell out of that kind of person. I really like this man and what he stands for. Quoting: Kumo77 If anyone has not seen this speech, watch it. He totally owned and pissed off Obama at this year's National Prayer Breakfast! This man is someone who puzzles me and compels me to ask how one so well read could still be a Christian. There is obviously something more to this Christ thing than I've been led to believe. He isn't foaming at the mouth. He didn't insult me with lines like "you must be filled with the devil since you don't believe", nor did he mention Christ very often, but didn't you feel it? I could feel the spirit of Christ's teachings working in and through this man. Everything about him wishes to be more like the Christ. That's really powerful right there. Really powerful. This is a man who I would be proud to call friend, mentor, President. His humility is, well, humbling! He isn't stupid, and he isn't any less powerful because he is soft spoken. He's ten times more powerful than any sing-song preacher or politician I've ever heard. This, my GLP aficionados, is a Statesman. :kaffe: Have a great day, GLP! I saw him speak at my sister's medical school graduation in 2009, and his speech he gave about education and other related topics is what inspired me to go back to school! Went back to school and graduated with 4.0 99.97% attendance. |

Most Christians I know and associate this are absolutely NOT this type. I believe the accusatory and inflammatory holier-than-thou people are very much the minority Christians. You know, the ones on TV. Most are humble and live by example. Many not even part of organized Christianity. Dr. Carson is a good man. Adversity is inevitable, misery is optional. Do or do not. BUT he will never be President because elections are fixed and the powers that be will never allow someone like him, with decency and a love for liberty, fairness, freedom and justice to rise to a powerful position. Get used to it: if obama isn't dictator by 2016, Hillary will be the next president. They've planned it that way---of course I could be wrong because maybe their plan IS that obama will be dictator.... or one world ruler, maybe with Hillary presiding over the US. We can't see all the details yet. William Clinton already is in the position of the CEO of the UN here in the US. They've got their power positions already established. |

I feel that way about Ted Cruz, Allen West and few others... The very saddest part is that the people who work hardest at defeating "statesmen" are members of their own party... Republicans like Peter King (R-Seaford) attacks Rand Paul harder than he has ever taken on any democrat. John McCain attacks Ted Cruz but calls Harry Reid "friend". Allen West lost his last election, not because of Democrats but because of the Republican legislature in Florida re-drawing his district and deliberately adding a big democrap area to it....West lost the election by a hair... It seems that for both parties if you are not a "player" you are not going to last long. We have not elected a "statesman" to office in decades. I doubt a real "statesman" could survive in today's Washington DC. |
