Holy crap, Obammy's face was a poem. I could pretty much visualize the vitriolic hatred manifesting as swirls of hellish fire in his mind. chuckle
Banned as usual.

“It is far easier to be a weakling than to be a Real Man. Were the Earth less harsh or the circumstances of life less austere, man would destroy himself before the shrine of the languid goddess. Only Real Men can with safety destroy the tangled forests and wilderness of Earth and make from them gardens, but will those who inherit the gardens be Real Men? The law decrees that they must be, or the wilderness will reclaim its own.”

Not wanting to derail another great thread Cyndexia posted about the 72hr fix of the disaster called Obamacare, I thought it would be better to make a thread so I could post my comments about the man in the video below. I'm really hoping that you will find inspiration from this man's words as I did this morning. He's great with a cup of coffee.

Thank you Kumo for posting the video! Kumo's post is being reused from this thread: Thread: Breaking : Congressional Democrats have reportedly given the president 72 hours

If a team of medical experts were gathered to fix the system and right the wrongs of Obamacare, I'd definitely pick Dr. Carson.

If anyone has not seen this speech, watch it. He totally owned and pissed off Obama at this year's National Prayer Breakfast!

 Quoting: Kumo77

This man is someone who puzzles me and compels me to ask how one so well read could still be a Christian. There is obviously something more to this Christ thing than I've been led to believe. He isn't foaming at the mouth. He didn't insult me with lines like "you must be filled with the devil since you don't believe", nor did he mention Christ very often, but didn't you feel it? I could feel the spirit of Christ's teachings working in and through this man. Everything about him wishes to be more like the Christ. That's really powerful right there. Really powerful.

This is a man who I would be proud to call friend, mentor, President. His humility is, well, humbling! He isn't stupid, and he isn't any less powerful because he is soft spoken. He's ten times more powerful than any sing-song preacher or politician I've ever heard.

This, my GLP aficionados, is a Statesman.

kaffe Have a great day, GLP!

Ohhhh Puh-leeeeze.

Lady, I've seen enough of your posts, to know that you are a pompous ass. You and your "Christians are all illiterate idiots" BS.

Some of the most brilliant minds in all of history, were those of Christians. Including Christ Himself. I'm so tired of arrogant self-important "geniuses", acting like believers in Christ are all backwards inbreds. When THEY are the ones who living in the dark.

Most Christians I know and associate this are absolutely NOT this type. I believe the accusatory and inflammatory holier-than-thou people are very much the minority Christians. You know, the ones on TV.

Most are humble and live by example. Many not even part of organized Christianity.

Dr. Carson is a good man.

cheers
 Quoting: Maguyver

This has been my experience too. Carson is a true Christian and a much better diplomat than we have in office.

5 ***** for the thread. More people should see this video.

Don't mean to burst anyone's bubble, but he lost me at healthcare reform. His word's are soft and compelling, but, promoting Obama's healthcare really through me off. No, we do not need to be targeted at birth with digital medical record's. Doesn't anyone see? He is so relatable and friendly, yet his hopes do not line up with The Jesus He claim's to follow. Yes, education is a good thing, and I have never understood why we limit it as much as we do. Geez, German student's graduate from High School with an Associate's Degree already in hand...Why don't we? We don't educate our children enough. The mind and all it's capabilities are endless.
But, our privacy is why America came to be and this man, though so very eloquent with his word's, has no desire to uphold our constitution.

He is to Obama what matter is to antimatter. I'm surprised they could share the same podium without deleterious effects.
 Quoting: Hawkesbay

I know, right? I paid close attention to Obama's body language during this and when Carson said we need to humble ourselves, I noticed Obama lifting his nose higher. Interesting. And, I believe at one time during the speech Obama appeared to be texting. I do believe Obama need's more prayer's for his soul. Just saying.

It might take more than prayer for his soul, not that prayer isn't powerful.

Yeah. I saw that too. I thought maybe he had a really bad itch or something he totally needed to scratch but he was on TV so....

Obama's a piece of work. Not the kind of man who leads, but always the type of man we elect to be leaders. People like to have their ears tickled. I prefer to grow, redefine myself constantly, rethink, re-examine, and then start the process all over again.

Fabulous
 Quoting: Pamelaantoinette

That isn't at all what I meant and you know it. Anyone who has studied knows that the Bible is a compiled work from many different writers who shared very different beliefs. Many of the translations of the texts have been purposefully skewed to support a particular political paradigm. These revelations were the reason I left the church. I simply could not support an institution which willingly and purposefully misled its followers. Therein lay the root of my question.

I thank you for your quick judgement of my intentions. I'm certain there was a far more thoughtful response you could have given me that was free of ego. I am neither pompous nor arrogant and I am the furthest from genius any human could be. My intention was not to offend, but to question. I'm sorry that was so offensive to you.

And thank you for belittling my quest to find a truth you seem to think is so blatantly obvious that anyone who doesn't see what you see is an idiot.
