What did I see in the sky?!?

While I was driving today around 10am I saw what I believed was a full moon....and it was somewhat near the sun.

I watched as this full moon was covered by passing clouds.. Here is the strange part either this "full moon" was moving closer to the sun....or the sun was moving closer to the "full moon" but anyways they cross paths...

It was possible to watch because of the clouds that were kind of suppressing the sunlight. The "full moon" disappeared when they crossed paths and the sun shined brightly as the clouds uncovered the rest of the sun.

I looked away and gave it a minute...and I was able to see the "full moon" again on the other side of the sun..

After a couple minutes the "full moon" object was gone....maybe it got lost behind some clouds but I couldnt find it. This was in a matter of aprox. 5 minutes.

I dont know to much about this kind of stuff so I just wanted to throw this out there maybe someone can clear this up for me. But if the moon passes the sun isn't that a lunar eclipse but what I saw was not a lunar eclipse I saw the sun shining bright.

I didnt have my phone on me...which I definitely regret because man I would have love to catch this on video or at least a pic. Tomorrow I will look around the same time to see if I see the same thing.

When I got home I checked what kind of moon phase was today and it was not a full moon. Just wanted to get some answers...and like I said I dont know anything about the sun and moon phases so be gentle....but whatever I saw...this was the first time I have ever seen this.

Sorry I know its hard to work with...without a picture to go by....I will try again tomorrow...and have my camera with me.
