My choices:

Glock 19, 9mm auto, gen 3. Hi-cap for CCW in cool weather under jacket or coat. 9mm is most common centerfire handgun ammo so you need a 9mm.

Glock 21sf .45ACP. Nightstand gun. Another common caliber. Load with CORBON 185gr dpx solid copper bullets for the ultimate self defense package.

S&W 340 "no lock" .357 mag. .357 mag in this revolver is like getting in palm of hand with a piece of rebar. Where this pistol shines is as a lite weight pocket pistol loaded with . 38 specials. However, these revolvers are very hard to find and cost nearly $1000. A good alternative for about 1/3 the price is the Ruger LCR .357
